Huge issues with latest Windows 10 update

1500
Funny how all those praising Win10 and blaming it on the users are getting quieter and quieter.
1500+ devices in and still no issues.

Amazing how numbers never alter biases because feelings and FUD.

Another uninformative message from Microsoft:

What exactly "isn't quite ready"?
Your device is an outlier and they haven't released the update because they're working on stability issues. How is this not informative?

MS could provide some details - which the user could address:
eg. Your device is not ready because:
  • NNN Video driver needs updating
  • MMM AV is currently incompatible
  • TTTT USB WiFi module needs new firmware
The user could then attempt to resolve the problem or wait for MS to resolve.

DISM logs are somewhat difficult to read.

Win10 Updates?

Err no thank you, have had too many issues already, I'll keep blocking it and update once a year when I have the time and space to backup the whole C drive and disconnect everything else, not going to be losing stuff again.

May I remind everyone, fresh installs of feature updates are fine but the upgrades are messing up PC's.

Yes fresh installs may have bugs but not colossal ones from upgrading.

thankfully my home and work laptops upgraded without major issues.
I had one issue on my work Dell latitude where the Optane Memory controller gave an error.
Uninstalled and re-installed an updated driver and all good.
I was updating from winver 1909 to 2004

It's the upgrade process itself that's the biggest issue. Win7 had some bugs sure but the upgrades went smoothly. Lots of people supporting these "massive" amounts of PCs are missing this point.

lol

My main games rig has been running the same install of Win10 since ~2015. Two CPU upgrades, three GPU upgrades, two SSDs and never reinstalled once.

Im currently on 2004 and it is working fine

Side note: zomg thank you that notepad now works with other programs expecting unix text file encoding. I cannot express how much easier this makes my life than having to remember to save edits with notepad++ for the stupid little things like chaning settings for my Pi or changing settings on a minecraft server

So basically anyone running off Intel graphics is affected by the block, so pretty much all laptops and most non-gaming desktops.

Then there are plenty who experience issues on the first upgrade. Amazing how the people who don't have issues are singing their generalisations from the top of the mountains.

What point? That the upgrades continue to go smoothly for the vast majority? That point?

I hear plenty of FUD, very little fact aside from feelings.

So everyone must be lying...
