Huge issues with latest Windows 10 update

The May 2020 update for Windows 10, which was released yesterday, already has 10 known issues - each of which Microsoft has detailed on its website.

All of these issues are specific to certain user groups, meaning that not all Windows 10 users will be affected by any of these problems.

The latest version of the world’s most popular PC operating system also brings a variety of new features – including:
  • ...
  • Memory improvements in the Microsoft Edge browser.

I thought it was illegal for MS to include their browser in Windows. Or is that just in the EU?

I have very little love for MS, but it would not be reasonable to expect no issues.
Still, bluetooth and mouse connections are pretty serious if you are affected.

True, but the regularity of serious issues, is fast becoming an issue, all on it's own.

One of the reasons I live in the sudo apt upgrade world now. Probably no fewer bugs, but they are fixed as they crop up with little fuss and not hidden below a dozen GUI interfaces.
(And it makes me sound like a big geek, except to the real geeks.)

I'm still on 1909, 18363.836 and told there are no new updates.

MS need to split updates
  • Kernel updates
  • App Updates
Example:
  • New notepad features.
  • Memory improvements in the Microsoft Edge browser.
These userland apps should just update.

Will, go that route, as soon as I have finished building my new computer. Laptop needs to stay on Windows unfortunately.

Then I will reacquaint myself with GCC and related utilities.
