Huge SAA flight cancellations

What I don't understand is - I have NEVER found an SAA flight that was cheaper than an alternative airline. So why do they have ANY customers?
African flights.
Mr Mila are forced to use them for certain destinations.

And the flights are cheaper because the government are subsidizing some of it to make it cheaper to try and get more people to use it.

Problem is that the money goes in and leaks out the ANC’s asses.

IF
The pilots union had had some balls way back in the day THEY could have gone on strike and finished off the little empress
NO pilots / No planes / No flying / No SAA
BUT
NO -- all touchy-feely -- CANNOT be seen to be "racist"

Bunch of yellow belly cry-babies

Hey, you would be a yellowbelly too if you have a family to care for, and a house to pay off....

Or they had a sense of duty to all the customers who needed to fly places...

Thank you for confirming

You do understand that it is the SA TAX PAYER -- that has been paying for that HOUSE and FAMILY

NO ONE asked ME if I would be happy to pay for arbitrary peoples problems ..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank heavens I made a good choice with Emirates ! Flying back from London this afternoon!

The flight from Dubai to SA, well Durban, will be in partnership with SAA. Not sure what the partnership is though as they use Emirates staff and planes so who knows

They not getting a cent out of me. Have restructured all my business affairs. I will no longer participate willingly or unwillingly in organized crime perpetuated by this rogue ANC government by paying taxes. I'm a contentious tax objector.

That's all very noble and "conscientious" of you, but I trust you realise that just makes you wealthier, and the rest of us employed peasants picking up the tax burden.

Actually in this, I am vaguely sympathetic to SAA...

Where my sympathy has gone into monumental negative values is for the 3000 members of the Unions at SAA who are demanding an 8% increase, and now striking.

Honestly, shuffle the assets around into different legal entities and shut SAA down at this point. Those 3000 creatures don't actually want to really work and have a job if they go on strike at this point.
I was reading an article about what the pilots actually want, for them its not about increases.
They have a far more unattainable goal in mind which should honestly be the goal for the airline.
They want the CEO and board sacked and replaced with people with longstanding aviation experience. They also want a CEO from the industry with a proven track record of being able to turn an airline around.

Of course all of that goes against the looting that the ANC wants to continue so its unlikely they will get it.
