Huge Vodacom data price cuts

Vodacom and price cuts....must be April Fool's.
 
Well after 5 years (I think)1gig finally costs less then a 100, we can expect 1 gig to cost less then 50 in another 5 years?
There should have been a year on year decrease, that way the alledged revenue decline vodacom is going to moan about now had the opportunity to stabilise and the impact not be that great as will be now.Vodacom and MTN essentially shot them self in the feet by not introducing gradual decreases.Not that 1 gig data will be flying of the shelves considering fixed broadband reduced price price of 1 gig to r10 over 10 years ago.

Both mtn and vodacom have more then enough towers now with the initial investment in getting towers up and running.Which means they are merely upgrading towers these days with the occasional new tower.Which should mean the overall investment costs in network is and will be cheaper, which means excluding exchange rates they should be able to upgrade their network far better and wider, then they would have been able previously.

Greed always gets you in the end

The article heading needs to be concise - first paragraph reads:

Vodacom and the Competition Commission have announced that they have reached an agreement regarding the Data Service Market Inquiry which will result in the mobile operator dropping monthly mobile data prices by over 30% across all monthly data bundles for contract and prepaid customers.
 
Its April - does not seem if the vodacom pricing is in effect yet.
