I did go in the stores. Makro in brackenfell was out of stock at 9:45am, incredible corruption would not give a discount when I showed the article. Even said "my broadband is just some website". Was surprised he never heard of it.

Got it from BT games in cape gate for r5300. To bad I couldn't use my ebucks there :(

Why would you show a MyBB article when you could just show an actual advertisement?

Just show the dozen or so local news sites that listing their name as a participating outlet, and show another outlet's advert. I don't support Incredible, but don't they have a price matching policy?

It is because the special comes from the distributor prima interactive. Same with the ps4 deal which comes from ster kinekor. So technically all stores that get their stock from those should have been able to sell at that price and claim it from the distributor. Obviously stores are not obligated i guess, but it is then their own loss for ending up with overpriced stock next week because no one bought from them.

So IC who clearly is slow and asleep, will probably have a special of their own next week to clear some stock, when they realised what has happened.

Why would their stock be overpriced? They could just buy the stock cheaper and not pass on the savings to their customers, or if the savings are post-sale then just not bother with the promotion. It's unlikely they stand to make more profit from selling discounted consoles.

Agree - Makro claimed that they only received an e-mail from SterKinekor relating to the PS4 and nothing about the XB1. At least they were nice enough to still reduce it for me to R5500.

Glad you got lucky. Today reminded me why I hate the South African corporate business. I gave IC a chance to make good and they couldn't without marketing from head office. So as far as I know, there is an Xbox unit selling for FULL price at their Cape gate store. I can tell you, best buy would have made right

What i mean with overpriced is , this is a slippery slope where it's clear these consoles needs a price drop. So it's an opportunity to move stock, next month the international price drops might start filtering in and then IC is forced to drop their prices anyway and then no one wants to buy from them (because everyone else has already sold at the lower price points).

It means IC is simply going to end up not making sales and will be forced to create their own promotion anyway (at similar low prices) ...but then the rush is over . It's long weekends/holidays + end of the month , this is the time to make these kind of sales. IC wasted an opportunity to make sales, simple as that.

When it comes to consoles I don't think they give a damn. They make their money selling computers and mobile devices to ignorant people. That's always been their bread and butter.

Probably, i got no idea what their marketing audience is, but they do have a fairly large part of their store dedicated to gaming in general. Plus i'd think a console is an easier sell than a PC to those ignorant people ;). So it is really stupifying if you take Makro or Game whose gaming sections are probably like 5% of their stores , yet they know what is going on in the market. Compare it to IC who should at LEAST be 25% focused on this (and even that is too little given their specialty) , knows nothing.

IC got an army of sales consultants attacking you if you enter their stores, but none of them knows how to handle this sort of thing? Sorry, that is just pathetic honestly.

It's like PicknPay knowing about the latest iPod before the iStore does because the iStore doesn't care about iPods...

NTSC doesn't apply in the modern world of HD.

However the 110v U.S. power supply is a problem but just get a local 220v one.

Still not worth the saving, rather just buy local.
