Hulu Plus

Using an AppleTV & Unotelly on Afrihost capped. Hulu buffers more frequently than it streams. Netflix is perfect.
 
@YingYang: It may be that jsheed_sa's DNS does not support Hulu Plus on the Roku. It doesn't support Hulu Plus on my android MXIII. Have you tried any of the other free DNS services like dns4me.net or 214.5.182.127 / 213.5.182.117?

@YY: Dns4me also supports Netflix region switching for the following countries - USA/UK/Ireland/Canada/Brazil.

I'm still on my Hulu trial and I think I'm going to cancel because of the steaming. Netflix also 100%

Why would this be?

I think it's due to the different CDNs that each uses. So certain ISPs perform better than others.

On average from people in SA I've seen that Netflix performs better than Hulu. If you see the opposite, please post your ISP.
 
I mean my Netflix is far better than Hulu - not a single buffer
 
What device are you streaming from? Have you tried to lower the resolution?

ATV3 ... I checked the settings, nothing to force it into a resolution. But thought it was auto like Netflix /?

You can log onto the Hulu site and change the resolution there.

Not all streaming services are as advanced as Netflix ;)
 
@Dolby: Just try to stream H+ from a web browser on a PC on the same network. There should be 4 resolution settings - low, medium, high and HD. If you can stream reliably at the high or HD resolution I would guess that the ATV3 is not adjusting the resolution correctly if the maximum bitrate deteriorates. On both my PC and my MXIII android media player I sometimes have to adjust the rate downwards manually if the connection deteriorates during the streaming session.

Of course the Ads stream 100% and in HD quality...everything else either stutters or is like 340p.

Same, Hulu streamed like ass and it buffered. In more than a year with Netflix, no buffering and a few seconds before switching to HD.
 
Anybody else using jsheed's DNS with a Roku 3 to stream huluplus?

Suddenly whem I click on an episode it just says "retrieving" for a few seconds then exits.

Usually caused by dns problems. Used to happen when i needed to update my ip address.
 
I just think if H+ can clean up their interface, I reckon that 99% of people using the service dont give a crap about CLIPS.

I must admit their interface is crappy I rather prefer Netflix interface.

But I guess all to their own

Spoke to jsheed this afternoon, as mines been doing the same, I'll be giving him my account details for him to test and hopefully he can get it sorted....
have you tried the previously suggested DNS services?
