So Telkom was supposed to install my fiber line today - I even took the day off since I was told someone needed to be on the premises, guess what? They never came - what a surprise! I even phoned them earlier to check if they were still going to pitch up or not - was promised they were still going to, but now I get told due to unknown reasons they won't be able to... So how do I vent my frustration? I feel like breaking something, any ideas?

Cool it, at least you are on a list for fibre!

and no don't rip out your Cu lines.

Have a drink and try to find something new on DSTV to watch ( good luck! :erm:)

 spoilsport! :p

daniellgr, if you can't be constructive, rather not reply

but seriously though, now they give me a new date - which I will need to take off from work again, and they might not pitch due to "unknown reasons" again?

Do yourself a favour wait for anyone else that is NOT Telkom... How long are you willing to keep supporting this corrupt government owned company with their empty promises?

The point is you do NOT want to rush the installation of a fibre connection. It has to be done properly for best performance. So patience is called for. Once installed properly, and no cable damage happens, you should receive years of completely trouble free service after that.

PS: I saw DFA working until about 23:00 last night in our area. So it is clear that lots of effort is being put into getting the connections done.

Are you aware of the fibre tests required, the accuracy levels to which the fibre splicing is undertaken, and the strict standards that have to be adhered to?

Come on man, everyone knows that time and Telkom time are two different things. I would have been sitting around at home for a week and the preceding Friday if I was in your shoes with an installation that took as long as mine did.

Get friends and family to take shifts at your place. Or hire a domestic for a week.
