I cannot be arrested by k*****s

Bottom-line is that the woman acted within the law, there is no law against being a grumpy, selfish neighbour who doesn't want to throw back your ball. But there is against pointing a gun in someone's face.

That said, I do believe that these kids could act that way. Damn I know 21 year-old afrikaner kids that still use those words.

I don't get why some neighbours have to be rude to children playing with the balls , weren't they young once? Its not as if we tried to bowl or hit it in that direction , the problem is, I being left handed and my brother right handed so the neighbours took turns collecting balls, its a community activity...
Hey a few times I can understand. But repeated occurrences are annoying. We have better things to do than to wait around to pass your f**king ball back ;)

If you want to play that way then go find yourself an open field or a park.

point a gun at me and you will be lucky only to be called those words.

one neighbour gave up on us, told us we can jump over the wall at the corners ( where it is stronger ), if we break our neck we do it at our own risk. O and we were moered for it on a sunday afternoon by my dad
"die ou mense wil slaap"

That is most definately sensationalism, Come now if he pointed a fire arm at her it is no longer a menial matter and I hardly believe he would be charged with Crimina Injura [Sp] and not charged for the fire arm and assault?

Yup, thats where the story doesn't make sense. At least not yet:)

i'm following he article, beyond that i don't really have much interest or resources to pursue this thing further. based on this article alone i'm sure you can agree that the woman felt threatened and insulted and that the family was racist in some way, which is in all likelyhood probably true even if you think most of the article is sensationalism.

Crimen injuria is a crime under South African common law, defined to be the act of "unlawfully, intentionally and seriously impairing the dignity of another." [1] Although difficult to precisely define, the crime is used in the prosecution of certain instances of road rage [2], stalking [1], racially offensive language [3] , emotional or psychological abuse [4] and sexual offences against children.[5]
It's the correct charge.

I'm not sure how one can be charged for a firearm though?

And there was no assault that took place so there was no charge of assault. I don't recall reading about anyone walking away from this with a black eye :)

If she does not like it she must leave the country!!
Isnt that the presidents stance?

I agree, that yes 10/1 These people acted in the manner described in the article to a point. I was merely replying to your post...

I don't see why this form of Racism(Racial insults) is unacceptable and a crime, when our country clearly endorses racist policies like Affirmative Action and BEE.

Inferiority complex's can be so dangerous when they are in Power.Sigh.

Threatning with a lethal weapon.
Intention to cause bodily harm with a lethal weapon. ( though I think this is the same thing)
Public display of a firearm.

There's a couple they could have used. Legalease, where none exists, make one.

i felt you thought i was being cocky when you asked me why she couldn't have given the ball back :) i remember reading that he insulted her so she might have held onto the ball to talk to the parents, hoping that the parents would be more reasonable :)

i often feel that the only reason that there IS BEE is because of people like her neighbours. if he is like that at home, imagine what he must be like when hiring new employees or working with them.

You do not get problem children you get problem parents.
