Hi. I had a 60+60 sim card that still had 30+ of night surf and 20+ of day surf, until 2 weeks ago.

Two weeks ago the sim started to suddenly disconnect and ask me for the pin code. When I entered the pin code the sim worked again, but after some time, an hour or so, it asked for pin again. I went to one of 8ta service centers and told that to the employee.
He said he will replace it for me. He did, he gave me a new sim, didn't ask for any money in exchange.
He kept the old sim, which was still working.

Yesterday, all of a sudden I got "data depleted" message and I could no longer access the internet.
I called 8ta and they started explaining to me that I used thousands of megabytes during the past 2 weeks, which I am 100% I didn't use.
I asked them about the websites I visited, and they said they can't tell me.

I am 99% sure it was that employee.

1- Can two sim cards be used for the same account concurrently, or does the new one automatically disable the old one once activated?
2- How can I prove what I claim ?

That amount of data is very expensive. I want to restore it. Please help me.

They should be able to tell you the source of the usage - tower location, etc.

Not sure if the usage is logged though.

Fwiw - I wanted to have 2 sims active on 1 number ( for voice in my phone and data on my iPad) and 8ta told me that they do not support this function.

Having two SIM cards using one account concurrently is not yet possible on 8ta. The new SIM will replace the old one.

AFAIK, You cannot have 2 sim's with the same data. i.e when a sim swap is done, the airtime/data gets transferred from the old to new sim... Also if a you wanted a dual sim, data can only be kept on 1 sim.

Hi iceq2

We're sorry for the manner in which your enquiry has reached us and would like to assist.

Please note: A sim replacement (sim swap) replaces the old sim card (as sim cards are activated through ICCID's - sim numbers) on the network. Use of two sim cards with the same number is therefore not possible as the one sim card's activation cancels the other.

You may send us a PM with your details should you wish for us to contact you to advise further.
