AAANNNNDDDDD it's not that great, apart from the games, it's well built, it's got a nice layout, and does every thing i want it to do, only there's no fun to the system, it's got to character so to speak.

but i must say i think the console is just all out video's. it's got the best video player ever!!! movies are incredible, and if you got a video, you can get it to play in the background, which makes it fun.

music, it sounds great but there's no playlist's, and there's no fun features...
don't get me wrong, i think it's worth the 6300 bucks that insurance payed. but i have come to realize that he ps3 is a precision tool, the tool that drills holes through wire... sure the controller is a blast, but there's still the fact that it's not fun.

But then i thought about it, and i think the ps3 is very grow-up... it does what you want it to do and does it well... no hassels, no fuss, just the work.

i do think it's better then any other system and because it's to the point, and is jam packed with features it will be more usable over time and you won't get board of it that easily. thanks for reading my say of the ps3, go well
 
what you say reminds me a lot of the Wii vs. PS3 ad...

BTW, how'd you get insurance to pay for it? :rolleyes: and if you had to pay for it yourself, would you still go for the PS3 or rather an XBox360?

i would bit my lip, and say ps3 IF I HAD 6000 bucks, and my psp was stolen and 7 or 8 games and a 1gig memory cards where stolen along with it, so it kinda adds up, and i just ask the nice loss adjuster to try and see if i could get a ps3 instead of a psp and well he did, GO DUNCAN

Sounds kinda boring to me.
When i got my SNES i was like:
SNES is the best period!!you dont seem that convinced,thats all.

lol... no i mean, sure it's fun, if it wasn't i know rather buy a really cheap car, and go drive it into a wall...but the fact that it does every thing so well.... makes it character less... but this is my point of view
 
i went out to buy the PS3 at R6600 ..... but then i walked past teasers on my way to ToysRus. and ye... I blew the money..

What games you get with the console (that you bought I mean)?
Right no Tekken, VF5 and Genji would probably my biggest pulling cards towards the PS3.
 
ya... the triggers give it that extra something, but i gotta save up for a component cable! blow my cash on the game and my coke fest. so im flat broke
 
Makro put together a bundle: ps3 and sony bravia hd tv for R17999.00, i hooked that up cause the tv alone is worth R15000!:D
oh and i also got resistance- brilliant game, really appreciated on the hdtv:p

Ouch from a hardcore PS3 fan as well....

That is not good....
 
Gavin, in fairness Sony products have never had "character" lets be honest. I don't mean that as a slight - look at their phones, their digital camera's, the PSone & 2, even their Wega's. They're well spec'd, do the job well - they're good products but they're all typically "boxes with buttons".
 
The Bravia has character in my opinion... I nearly sold my kids for a 50" Bravia this weekend :D

My wife picked up a new Sony video camera this weekend which is also very nice... not sure how a video camera could have character though?
 
bleh I don't like Macs....

Samsung has character. My fridge sings "She will be coming around the mountain when she comes" if I leave the door open :D
 
Lol, but I agree, the Samsungs do have a particular "character", that shiny "come touch me with your icky fingers" look is pretty cool.
 
ok... think of it in terms of... cars or stuff, like a golf/go cart have character while a um... muscle car doesn't WHY? well you can have fun in a go cart you can thrash it and as you see it, it tells you that you want a good time so ride me while the muscle car just sits there.

it's the same with electronics, like some electronics give the impression that they fun, and like to be played with, while others are just there
