I know this kind of thread have been posted million times before.

Just wanted to get my frustration out how dumb the monkeys are at Telkom and the Baboons who manage the place.

Have been waiting weeks now for my line to get installed. Tomorrow is due date, now earlier a guy calls me and said that due to the Strike they gonna have to reschedule. I told the guy there is no way that they are postponing this again.

Then I call back later just to make sure if it is now happening or not, after 36 minutes of waiting on the helpline and listening to that idiot speak about specials finally someone answered.

Now this girl tells me that they registered me for a completely different service than what I asked for and they can't be a 100% sure if the guy will show up tomorrow.

I asked her how long the strike is still gonna be - "indefinitely"

Who is Telkom gonna blame for their incompetence, APARTHEID!

I have seen so many problems with Telkom.. but yet I have never had any complaints!
Guess I am lucky.

ya i dont know hey..the last thing telkom did at my house was super.and they then called up 3 times the same week to make sure the call was attended to? but i guess i was lucky aswell
 
Well it took them 4 months to get our phone and ADSL up and running. We used to have ISDN and them Telkom told me it is not possible to have ISDN and DSL. Kind of crappy that I had ISDN and DSL in Germany for the last ~ 8 Years.

I got a phone line - and an ADSL line in 3 days. Shocking it was, yes, and especially after having read so many negative reports surrounding Telkom's service. Fortunately, everything's been smooth sailing since then.
 
we also had good service with them just not sure cos of strikes how much longer it is going to take for our 5 new lines to be installed
 
I waited 5 weeks, cancelled and got Neotel instead. Cancelled Neotel and went back hat in hand and applied again. Will wait patiently this time, and only expecting to get it sometime around christmass.

The only way to be satisfied with Telscum service is not to expect good service.
 
Been waiting a few weeks here, then realised THEY needed a neighboors phone number TO FIND OUT WHERE I WAS, phoned MTNsp, in less than 30 minutes, I was on net. Sorry Telkom, this isnt 2001 anymore, there are proper alternatives to your product now, step it up a notch.
 
they just need one! at least one mainstream competitor for adsl and then the games should begin...im hoping for neotell to get done with there infastructure in residential areas, but that won't be anytime soon i guess...for now we are abused by telskum...its a waiting game with neotell i hope they provide excellent adsl service.
 
Wonder if a poll could be setup just with telkom service who's happy who's not looking at the thread telkom seems to be doing well :sick:
But even I must admit that since adsl been installed 3 years back no problems at all and also my line was install in 4 days albeit I ordered on a Friday afternoon but had adsl on Tuesday. I remember this clearly as I was told of the bad service and possible months I could wait. But hey maybe I was just lucky too :rolleyes:
 
Ok so a guy came through this morning , Piet, to install my line - very nice guy and told me how everyone thinks it's their fault if there is no line. It's the builders and electricians who need to set it up, not Telkom.

Took him about 15 minutes to install the line. Very good service.

Then I went to the Telkom shop - and told me after filling out all the papers that it should take another 7 days, asked her why because my line is set up.

Her answer was they need to test if everything works...pathetic.

But Piet was good, so Telkom scored some points there and then lost everything again at Telkom shop.
 
ok gonna lose it now - called telkom to find out how the progress was coming.

Told me that they connected my ADSL to wrong port / and it is a System error, so now it could take longer for them to fix it.

why are they so stupid? it's their job every day to do this!
 
so chris, did you get a new line installed and are now applying for adsl self install? i'm also in the same boat
