I HATE TELKOM

ok gonna lose it now - called telkom to find out how the progress was coming.

Told me that they connected my ADSL to wrong port / and it is a System error, so now it could take longer for them to fix it.

why are they so stupid? it's their job every day to do this!

They are supposed to come and install my line this afternoon. I applied for a line and adsl at the same time. Hopefully they will do the installation this afternoon. And I suppose I am being over optimistic to say hopefully I will be surfing tonight? :-)
 
so chris, did you get a new line installed and are now applying for adsl self install? i'm also in the same boat

no I had a line already but not connected to exchange. so I asked them to connect it to exchange and then immediately set up the ADSL.

When the techniccian arrived he had no knowledge of this and said I have to call telkom again and apply for the conversion and it should be up and running by saturday last week.

Oh and told them it's for business which it is.... so that theory is down the drain.

I feel your pain, the tech came out to my place this afternoon and realised that they can't connect me with the fastest line speed like they said they could when I ordered the line. Now my house is apparently too far from the exchange and it would work best on 384kbs. WTF? And when I phoned their call center to have my service activated they told me I have to wait 48 hours after the installation before they could activate anything. Now I must phone back on Saturday. Also, the tech said for some reason the internet led on my D Link router doesn't come on and it is supposed to. Do I have a faulty router or is it just a setting somewhere or maybe the fact that I am not connected to a service provider yet?
 
My telephone line has been down for a week and everytime I phone to complain they say that the technician is in our area. I bet he is smoking up on the corner somewhere. Telkom are not great at all. BAD service!!!
