I Love Linux

And each time you went "uh oh/oh schitt/interesting/WTF?.." :D

Not quite. The first time I accidentally installed the intel-xorg video drivers... never did that again. Another time I had a messup with reinstalling GRUB, where the ubuntu cd decided to follow the steps and start installing ubuntu again. I was pissed off, but what can I do? Swearing doesn't help...

lol, I remember I figured installing a new network manager would be a good thing to do - bad idea. No more interwebz - had to reinstall from scratch, luckily my data is backed-up like usual :)

Agreed.

I love these OS's that are for FREE. I PAID for my UNFREE Windows...
My UNFREE Windows can run programs and games!!!:eek:

I'm a bit slow today, so forgive my ignorance:

Never mind, just remembered that I have not revered to the rm command as remove in like never.... just always said "rm that file", etc...
:o

The best part about linux...

n00bs sit in front of your PC. "WTF did you do to windows? Where can I get a theme like that?"

Or the way they nearly crap themselves when they find out you run no anti-virus and you're connected to teh interwebz. One damagement drone happily preached how unsafe it is in today's network environment. Had him google linux virus.. he got the hint

How does linux do it ?!

Ram usage 10%, swap space 0% for basic desktop usage... just amazing.

We all had to learn sometime..does it make you better than us:D.........no trollwhore grusaurus

With linux you never stop learning. There's always something you don't know. The more you know, the more you realize how little you know...

Yes... just like life, wise words indeed. :p

I'd have to say: "through better design and implementation". Having installed a few *nix flavours at home, I've fallen head-over-heels with Ubuntu. Now if only the OpenGL gaming market would explode already, so that we could be equally entertained as we are by DX, I'd be ecstatic.

Open GL 3.0 - specs or something were recently released.

Hopefully we will see some amazing things soon :)

Yes, Linux does fly on pretty much any PC you put it on.

Speaking of breaking Linux, there was a HUGE break in the unstable ~x86 branch of Gentoo two days ago and it took me around and hour to fix.

I'm not going to bore you with trivial detail, but if there are other Gentoo folk out there with ~x86 arch who have not synced yet, please FIRST READ THE FOLLOWING:
e2fsprogs update

I would like to do a custom installation(choose packages to install) using the ubuntu 8.04 desktop cd, how do I go about doing this?

I don't think it even has the custom installation option. I wish it did, as I would use it.

I can't remember. Haven't used the alternate cds in a while. It could be... somebody else know?

Linux would so kick Windoesn't ass.
It does not though, as it does not think it moral to beat up the retarded.
