I would not suggest crossfire man, been nothing but a pain in my arse. Performance is very good but driver support is a nightmare.
I should have taken the 4k i spend on my 2 5770's and bought a 5870 or 5850 rather.
price?
The Intel site must be wrong, then.
price?
Goes for about R650 - R850
Hahahahahahahahaha
Why are you laughing exactly?
I remember a short while back you were recommending to forumites that they should get xfire 5770s over a single 5850/5870
/ah nvm![]()
Ya i recall that as wellbut in fairness my 5770's are awesome i just never factored in the piss poor ati driver updating system. When you get it right they work seriously well but far to many driver issues for my liking
.
If ati would just allow us to make profile's for our games there would no problems. 5770 is still better in performance than a 5850 but driversahhhhhhhhh nightmare
So, its a few hundred rand more expensive, doesnt work well due to drivers, uses up more space, more power, produces more heat and noise, and is slightly faster than a 5850. I thought everyone knew Crossfire was jus a terrible idea?

What are you talking about? 5770 crossfire cost me 4k and only because i bought vapor x but they are slightly faster or equal to a 5870 which at the time was 5k. Much better than a 5850.
Crossfire is far from a terrible idea and does work but as i mentioned ati let crossfire down with slow profile release and slow problem correction.
The things you list are not a problem at all, you don't even make mention of the drivers taking long and that is why i basically dislike it now. If ati could just keep releasing fixes and drivers for the crossfire guys it would be insane. The frustration comes from waiting 3-6 weeks for a fix to problems you encounter and nothing to do with heat or power.
If ati could just bring out drivers and fixes faster then xfire would be amazing.
