Here is what i don't get, every-time such topics come up the is always some individuals flaming iBurst about poor service (some i agree with) and the reason for them jumping the boat yet they still hanging around the iBurst forum, i dont get that i wish someone could explain it to me..
How would you feel if you had a decent connection and no speed related issues for almost 10 years from iBurst then one day all you can get is dial-up speeds and iBurst literally gives you the finger every time you complain?
We first had a 1Mb modem when we stayed on the ground floor of a block of flats and had no issues whatsoever. Regularly had close to and above 1Mb/s 24 hours a day.
Then we moved into a house, and got the 2Mb modem 2 years ago. All was hunky dory with no speed issues at all (2+Mb/s during the day, during rainy weather etc) and I used to rave about the 2Mb modem being the next best thing to sliced bread. Sadly in December 2011, everything went for a loop and I lost my raving ability.
Loads of complaining (3 months of complaining, I might add), and Mel sorted out a flat panel antenna installation as we flat out refused to pay for the antenna as it was their network problem and not ours.
While we are extremely grateful for that, speeds were still not back to where they used to be and for 11 months now, all we get is excuses and lies as to why we do not get the speed we used to get.
Now tell me you will not be just slightly ticked off if that had to happen with you after being loyal customers for 10+ years?
I still hang around here as we still use iBurst (unfortunately) as they want us to pay over R6000 to cancel our contract yet we pay 800 bucks a month for dial-up speeds and have been doing so since December 2011. Before that we were only too happy to pay that amount of money as we were getting brilliant speeds.
In March 2013 however, our contract comes up for renewal (which we will NOT be renewing) and then I will leave this place for good and hang around elsewhere on this forum.
