Iburst getting worse by the week

XP and no Virusses and Spyware...trust me..

It's been working fine...but since alot of other people also seem to have disconnection problems I'm starting to get the idea it's a iBurst problem

My speed is going for a ball aswell as disconnects driving me insane, yet I still have a -71db signal from my tower with a 0 load.
Just pulled some averages from a site I know to be reliable (ADSL proves this with simultaneous DL's of the same file and maxing the connection).

Have a look, you'll see March and Aprils averages are rather consistant... Then I'm all over the place, much the same with all other sites. Clicky clicky!!!

Time to move on...

It’s really been time to move on, iBurst isn’t getting any better – I was still hanging on in the hope that they would get their house in order, but it seems not.

However the mobility of the product is a plus and when the system is properly maintained it does perform well, but that seems not to be happening anymore.

Best to accept the reality and move to Telkom and leave iBurst to the 49 p/m specials.

Since the last mess up my connection has been fine for fast downloading, but as I already stated browsing has been and still is a pain in the butt.

I do not suffer with disconnections or any of the other problems mentioned, and if they will just sort out or remove that proxy server then I guess browsing will return to normal.

iBurst has all our email addresses - so why can't they inform us of these problems? After Ed Hall left, they're becoming EXACTLY as arrogant as Telkom. Still waiting for an iBurst forum representitive.

Oh, another update. I've already faxed my cancellation to iBurst, got an email from them acknowledging my cancellation - and then their accounts department sends me a bill as a 'new contract subscriber'. In the three years that I've been with iBurst, I was on month-to-month from day 1.

''Contract: iBurst0073700 - Pro Intro subscription for June, Subscriber:''

What the FAAK is going on in that place?!!

This is making my blood boil.

perhaps we should ask RPM if he could find out if iBurst are going to get a MyAdsl forum representative considering they still insist using MyADSL in their advertising as broadband choice for 2006 or woteva?

RPM?

Very valid point, halicon. iBurst is using MyADSL publicity, but refuse to have a forum rep - this smells like Telkom.

Guys, there is a very good reason Ed left and ibust does not have a forum rep.

When you have a cr@p system and thousands of complaints per day you simply cannot respond. They would have to hire an entire team of forum/phone/email reps to just read/hear all the complaints. Never mind doing something about them.

Cr@p system = too many unhappy users to help. Solution? Ignore them while you refuse to cancel their contracts.

Guess that's why Telkom refuse to have a forum rep...but I think they're just arrogant. Come Neotel, make us free!!

Question

When you guys get disconnected...is it like a soft disconnect with the connection still active but you cant use the net, or is it a hard disconnect where you connection icon actually dissapears... and are you guys capped at the moment.

I had this problem last month where every morning my connection would disconnect. And it was a “Hard” disconnect.
It seems to be fine now, but maybe it’s a capped issue?
Will see if it happens again this month.

guys i cannot believe how slow iburst has got in durban, i am geting such poor browsing results, even though i can sometime be the only one connected to my tower which is less than 1km away with such excellent signal strength. i dont know what has happened but i seriously want to give it back.

faultysa, the browsing part you've got right as it's slower than dialup, but downloading is still as fast as it should be, at least on my side.

It's just getting worse & worse - I had problems again this morning.

I've been generally happy with my IBURST connection for the last 2 years or so, but lately my connection has been going down the tubes, not only speed but reliability as well.

I get long periods during the day where 2KB/s is fast . My average speed has dropped from about 70KB/s to about 10KB/s over the last year.

My signal has never been great, although i have 5 LED's, so i've never really put up much of a fuss. But things are getting to the point where i'm seriously looking for an alternative.

I'm no technical fundi, but it seems to me that IBURST is over selling its product and all regard for quality has gone out the window. :(
