Iburst speed waning

I have not in a long while heard so much drivel, and pure nonsense spouted out of a single person's mouth, as I have from BroadbandICTHoldings in this thread.

A few gems:

The way this spatial technology works if amazing to say the least....there can be hundreds or thousands of users in just a few Mhz of spectrum......each user *device* allocated a personal cell, hence personal broadband....this is iBurst!
I would suggest that you go back, and do some real research.

Data over a Data Derived Network infrastructure not data over voice technology I.E. ... DSL,ISDN,56k and 3G....
This one set off my bvllsh1t filter to the highest level.

BBICTH said:
Rule of Thumb.....The faster it sends and receives the packets the better your throughout with iBurst will be!
I dunno. This one seemed kind of... Obvious?

I'm 'bending the signal' in a sense....bouncing it off a few things and tada.....1 Mbps

Sounds technically intricate. Would really love to see these "things" it's bouncing off. Bend it like Beckham eh?

More content, and less boet, please.

I have just completed my first firmware update ever, I used to have more than a year old firmware, now I have the latest. The result, nothing that I can tell. The speeds are the same, if not slightly worse for no reason and pings are the same story.

I geuss it could help some people, but what exactly is it meant to do for you? Because it did nothing for me.

in all honesty it did nothing for me... it just helped when i phoned support and i could say: yes i have installed the new firmware. (that is usually after their wonderful precious support team asks you about MTU settings  )

eish now I have to get the writeup and docs somewhere....lol

Well I had customer in crap locations it sorts out Base Station alignment issues.....so if you were say stuck between a few base stations and the device kept on doing a disco or latency was really bad...or it cycled all the available base stations the firmware would in most instances cause and end to that.....

Mmmmmm it made the device alot more stable.....I've also found customer links to be more stable.....mostly in the Rondebosch area....

There's lots.....it might not make your link faster.....but a thing to remember link quality shoudl improve.....check the frame errors....well now you can't compare them anymore....unless you have a log of the old frame errors.....

In general....it's a rule of thumb upgrade.....

well i have the latest firmwares
a solid connection (-68db) with less then 2% frame error's
no spyware
correctly set MTU (according to iburst)

explain why:
international speed is half that of local?
local speeds are almost half what they were 4 months ago
everyone seems to be complaining?

But until now you have yet to explain anything pertaining to this speed loss. So I guess since you have so much to offer then explain it to us all?

The spot light is on you BroadbandICTHoldings.

Is it because Iburst have no bandwidth / over selling?

If you are waiting for an answer from iBurst before you can answer then join the club.

ps. For someone who sells the product you have done a world of damage to the product ;) are all wireless providers the same?

Speed loss.....What speed loss??? I ahven't experienced it at all! How can I emphasize that....I guess I can't with you...so.......there are people pulling 1 meg who understand how to best utilise the product.....I'm not going to sit here and argue with you......you help companies lie remember Mr.Marketing!

I could go through a list of issues that would resolve your problems!!

But I suppose you woudl be to ignorant to accept them....you seem techncally minded, so think 'laterally'....simply.....consider all the possibilities....and then make an informed decision...

Problems that are out of my hands (Infrastructure, NOC, Internal WBS networking configurations, products ,etc) I refer to WBS to try and offer you an explanation.....but nevermind...I will browse now and then and gather info to use for my customers.....

All these questions you guys have are not affecting my customer's in fact I think I will submit an RFI to all of them and check the feedback......at least you have done one thing and that's to open my eyes to the fact that.....above all the value added services I provide my customer and the following up....I think there's always room for improvement so I will get more and more feedback from them and then maybe I will present it here....or you could revert to contacting your individual reseller or WBS for advice and support.....

And please don't shine the spotlight on me...lol....I would love to help you but with the attitudes from somem of you...I can see why there's little support from more of us......I think I will save the support for my customers from now.....on.....I've had enough.....

I have queried a few things with WBS and will query this too......but thanks for all your snide remarks Hal.....much appreciated...it actually encourages me to exceed the current service levels I offer my customers...it promotes me to provide a better service in general.......

Hal, Happy iBursting and if not...then find a solution that best meets your requirements.....hope you succeed all of the best.

Thanks too you as well Rodent...

Cheers
