Have any of you guys seen this?

http://www.iburst.co.za/neuvo.aspx?link=get_packages_adsl

I know the Telkom news has everybody busy but IBurst has launched 2 uncapped ADSL products.
They both run at whatever line speed your line is until you hit your daily AUP then get throttled till midnight. The R219 account looks pretty good if you don't download 24/7 and should save some guys a bundle of cash. For the price of the "business" account I would rather have MWEB though.

I see the AUP carries over, so the 1 gig will roll over I wonder for how long?

I dunno a 30 GB account that has rollover and never cuts you off only slows you down till midnight and runs at full line speed for R219 sounds freaking awesome. Frankly IBurst should have made a big deal about this as it is a bloody good product on paper.

And it's a damn site better than the crap Telkom has launched

I'm sure I'll get more than 2.5Gb per day on a Telkom uncapped account...

So as long as the account is only for downloading, telkom wins(although MWEB is cheaper and will kick telkoms' throttled arse). But if I want to surf the web or game or use youtube the Iburst account wins and is cheaper.

Consider that a 1Mb line with the Telkom uncapped would be R140+R658 and is throttled(not shaped so everything suffers) = R798
IBurst = R140+R289+R219 = R648

How about the current Do 3 bundle VS IBurst ADSL:

Do 3 = R140 + R554 = R694 for up to 10 meg and a 16GB cap
IBurst = R140 + R413 + R219 = R772 for 1 Gig a day with rollover and never getting capped on an up to 10 meg line.
Only R78 more than Do3 for SUBSTANTIALLY more data and the security of never getting cut off.

Oy then mweb is for you. I share my line with with my friend next door and he claps over 400gb a month so I am on mweb as well but if it was just my house I would jump on the iburst deal.

wireless of course :P

i heard 80ping locally on a good day, could be wrong.

That ain't gonna help give an impression of the ADSL product then is it?:D

We need Rooi to hop on here during the week and hand out a couple of test accounts.

Very good offering

Surprised openweb or afrihost never looked at something like this. Could call it the uncapped gaming account or uncapped surfing account. You could pull 100gb on the 219 and 130 on the small business offering.

What a rip off why call it uncapped, when you can only download 1GB a day then get throttled to death for the rest of the day?

Because some people want uncapped for the security of never getting cut off? Or how about the people that want uncapped for things like steam and don't want to spend R500+ on that luxury? or people that only periodically use large chunks of data?

Not everybody wants to keep a local backup of all tv and movies.

its not uncapped. people seriously need to come up with a better description of their products....

saying its uncapped is misleading and false advertising

good product though!

Sorry but let's say I wanted to play Team Fortress 2 on steam as a new user I don't have a copy yet. That would be about a 4 gig download (it's free to play so there is no chance that I am going to buy it). That is a 4 day download before I even start to play. Then I will be throttled for day 4 already so I will probably only be able to start playing on day 5.

Another example, I recently bought a new PC I install Windows 7, I have to download SP1. that is a gig already, I haven't downloaded my updated MB drivers yet or the Office patches or any anti-virus and it's updates. And if you are like me and re-use my old computer with a new Debian install that is a minimum of 4,7gig download. It would take me more than a week to download all of this and get my computers up and running. I also often sit in my study and stream the rugby while working because I don't have dual view.

My point not everybody downloads large amounts only in pirated goods, so they can't call it uncapped and then impose a soft cap on you.

I give up. Is anybody taking notice of the fact that these accounts have FUP rollover.
