Ibust DC++ hub updated

Hi Gatecrasher

Thank you for the constructive advice, it is appreciated.

The software you mentioned is a brilliant idea and I will implement that straight away. Also, thanks for clarifying the need for an external antenna, it makes perfect sense.

It is unfortunate that I have to resort to a forum to receive help, since I am paying iBurst the fee for connectivity and support.

However should you have any further advice or tips, I would be keen to hear from you.

Once again, many thanks.

Regards

Michael

Connection reset by server??

[21:36:00] *** Connecting to ibust.kicks-ass.net...
[21:36:02] *** Connected
[21:36:03] *** Connection reset by server

^This is what I get when I TRY to connect to ibust.kicks-ass.net...

Any idea why this would happen?

My guess would be that you have to enable the relevant dc++ ports in your Windows (or other OS) firewall.

Michael, thanks for your comments. There is a lot of experience and collective wisdom on this forum. Let us know how you go. Most problems have solutions. Iburst are very happy if your experience is good, but they are also quite content if you are just getting by (which I expect most Ibursters are doing). To really get the most out of Iburst you have to iron out the wrinkles and make sure that you have the best possible software and the best possible connection.

This is brilliant when it works! Up 1.1Gig down 1.2 Gig in less than 24 hours! And that's with only 2 people on the hub!

Things were going so smooth... 'till 21:49 last night. Sinse then "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." No doubt only a small hump in the road.

Only thing is: more people need to come and share! With 4 used slots I have achieved 55kB up AND down.
