ICASA Feedback

I'm finding it really hard to be an optimist when it comes to dealing with ICASA and Telkom. I am becoming more and more frusted with ICASA. It's simply ridiculous how long this whole process has taken. RPM, when was our complaint first submitted to ICASA? Must be atleast 18 months ago.

ICASA Complaint
February 2004?

My goodness, so it has been nearly 18 months. I find that quite unbelievable.

(And I see that I'm becoming so frustrated that I can't even spell frustrated anymore! :) )

Thanks BTTB.

A thousand posts mate .... ;) ...

......... I'm patiently ...waiting ... guess we'll have to revert back to I.K.A.K.A instead of I.C.A.S.A ... besides the name is more descriptive of the situation that we find ourselves in...

What about a phone protest.

We all plan to phone @ a certain time asking for the report. I think a couple of hundred phone calls in the span of a few minutes should get them rolling :D :D :D.

If we do this we all need to have exactly the same initial opening line (RPM?). Execution will be everything.

Yep, I've actually totally given up on the hope that ICASA will actually do something about this that will benefit South Africa. I do not believe that they have any kind of power over what happens with Telscum price structures. It seems more and more that they are just there so that the members can pocket a nice monthly salary, and to hell with the rest.

It's the same old thing over and over again. I.e. Let's hold meetings and setup comittees to investigate. Pay the members money. To the public it looks like we are interested in South Africa. To divert attention a bit we go after the mobile operators, where the gov. has less interest and maybe we get something right, maybe we don't. Either way it looks like we earned our pay.

The same tragedy that is South African governance. I'm getting quite sick of it. It's time we get the kind of leadership in this country that actually DOES care about it's people and the country. Not just say they do with a few hollow promises and gestures. It is such a pitty, this could be the greatest Country in the world, if we had a chance to be.

I for one am looking for a way out of this sorry place.
