ICC Twenty20 2014

That was a tower of schite from Pakistan and we think we have problems.

10.35: The lights are slowly coming back on but it is still raining.
The D/L target is 82 for 3 after 14.2 overs. Ireland are ahead and will win if there is no play.

10.35: The lights are slowly coming back on but it is still raining. Will confirm the D/L par score at this stage.
Baundule: "It is raining with strong wind. Power shutdown during storm is very common in Bangladesh. This is done in order to avoid accidents. This time they have probably pressed the wrong switch."

10.25pm: And now it's raining! The covers are in.
Just informed that if play's delayed or suspended, play can be extended by a maximum of 30 minutes.

So that's two floodlight failures in the space of 13 minutes. Imagine if they had all gone off when the ball was sailing into a thickly populated stand.

"This after asking fertiliser companies to stop production to divert electricity for the cricket," says Abhishek, at the ground.

14.2 - Ahmed Raza to Wilson, 1 run, 10.23pm he paddles it to fine leg and the lights have taken a break again! What's going on here, seriously? This must be rather embarassing for the organisers.

Game over

I could not follow the game today. Happy they won so emphatically. Would have liked to see the batting go after the total as though they needed to do it in less overs. So far so good.

... and another floodlight failure!

I really hope the tournament isn't remembered for this. The hosts need better marketing than this.

Kind of bizarre that the host country has to qualify. I know it's Bangladesh, but still...

I'd love to see bangladesh not qualify :D they had the easiest group.
