ICC World Twenty20 2012

Pathetic that Robbie P has to come in and show them how to bat.

Hey, naysayers, the runs are coming now... ;)

EDIT: But no doubt you'll find a way to still turn it into a negative.

It's my opinion that the SA cricketers are grossly overpaid prima donnas, for the results they achieve. Perhaps it's time to introduce a remuneration system based on a monetary amount paid per wicket taken, and per run made?
Give them a small basic salary, and make them perform for the bulk of their income. It has become embarrassing to be a SA cricket supporter in big tournaments

To be fair it's only really in World cups that they fail consistently!!

Yip, that's the nature of T20, 3 or 4 big overs can change the complexion of the game.

EDIT: Get Warner, Watson and Hussey early and it's game on but fail to pick up at least 2 wickets in the 1st 6 and it's game over.

86/5 after 14 overs is poor from your top order. There's no defending that just because Robbie bailed them out a bit!

It's no wonder the game appeals to the masses. The short memories and attention spans of many reflect the game. SA tops the test match table and is fractions of a point from being the top ODI team yet people call our players over paid primadonnas....

Need a super human effort from our fielders and bowlers to bring this one home. I refuse to be optimistic though. Tired of consistently being let down, as I am sure many of you guys are too....

It's a team sport. It's the end result that matters. One day Peterson "saves" us, another day Steyn does... and so on.

The thing that peeves me most is how quickly South African "supporters" (and I use that term very loosely) attack the team.

That line says it all. In most aspects of SA life I come across folk who refer to themselves as realists when you point out that they are pessimists of note.

Agreed.

Test cricket remains the pinnacle of the sport and we not doing too badly there, are we....?

Agree. In football if Spain won all their friendlies but got kicked out the group stages then surely they should not be the #1 or #2 team in the world.

Test cricket doesn't have a world cup. That might explain it.

All about managing expectations.

Hell no, I'll ALWAYS assume we are going to win everything. I can't understand any other attitude from someone who calls themselves a supporter. If we lose, then so be it, that is sport and no one has a 100% record. If we win then I can claim some of the accolades for giving my undying support. To expect the worse, ridicule and demean the team and then share in the spoils if they are victorious is annoying, to say the least.
