I use Internet Download Manager to download movies and series files from Filesonic.com (Premium account)

I schedule my downloads between 00h05 and 07h55 using a iBurst desktop modem. (Dark Knight)

My issue/problem is that 50% of the time my downloads reach 88%, 92%, 94% and stop downloading.

The "Transfer rate" goes down to "0" and stays there. I have to stop the download and press the Resume button to continue downloading again and complete the download.

The weird part is that the modem continues flashing and downloading something in the background. Even though it stopped downloading the file.

I thought it was a router issue, so I connected the modem directly with the ethernet cable to my laptop. Still it happened.
I thought it was the antivirus, so I disabled the antivirus. Still it happened.
I thought it was IDM, so I upgraded IDM. Still it happened.

I've scanned my laptop with the antivirus, nothing.
I've googled for a solution, nothing.

I downloaded a few files using Cell C and IDM and no problems. All files complete, without touching the resume button.

I get an average of 120 kB/s speeds, so it's not a speed issue. So I presume it's something to do with iBurst

So if you have any ideas or use IDM + filesonic + iBurst let me know.

I would try another download manager. I use IDM for day to day downloads but for file sharing sites I use Mipony  . Download this and thank me later: http://www.mipony.net

Schedule it to "start all" at 00h05 and then schedule it to start all at say 2:00 and 4:00... (just in case a download times out, or gets an error).

Well I would like to thank you now.

I tried Mipony last night and downloaded over 1.3GBs. All completed successfully.

I find it a bit slower than IDM, but at least it works well with Filesonic.

I will test more this week and report back.

Thanks again...;)

Yeah I get the same with Filesonic + Openweb After hours uncappped + IDM... Also finding Filesonic slow sometimes (on a paid account). Trying to determine if the performance fluctuations are Filesonic related or IS/Openweb shaping related..

Is this the paid-for version. I've noticed some other issues with copies ...

You talking about IDM? If so, it's a cracked version.

Then why does it work well with Cell C? That's the weird part.

Do your downloads also stop around 90%, then you have to stop and resume for the files to continue to download and complete?

Exactly!!

Cracked version of IDM. It's a great product though, quite prepared to pay for it provided it works!!

Can you download 2 files at once (threaded)?

Yes, but one will still stop around 90%.

Giving Mipony a try again tonight. If successful, IDM will be taking a back seat.

You using mipony with firefox or IE. Played around with mipony yesterday but couldn't get it to integrate with ff.

I'm using it with Chrome. I just drag the links to Mipony and that's it.

I downloaded another 1.4GBs last night, all successfully downloaded. No more waking up in the middle of the night to click on resume with IDM.

If Mi"little"pony continues to be reliable, IDM will be getting the Soprano treatment soon.

I miss the "Turn off computer when done" feature from IDM though.

Thank you. ;)
Glad I could help. :)

With the new captchatrader add-on I am not even using a premium account any more:D.

@ sandmanm34, If you set it to "monitor clipboard" just copy the links you need in ff...

I found the "Shutdown computer when all downloads are complete" button.

It's the black button, under the word "Statistics".

Awesome little program...

How have your download speeds been though? I've been finding speeds to be well below par from Filesonic!! Still using IDM.... I'm on a 10mb line but barely manage a 400kBps average on single threaded downloads...

With IDM I get 120 kB/s, with Mipony I get 90 kB/s, using iBurst. With Cell C on IDM, I get 900 kB/s speeds... it flies!

iBurst doesn't shape Filesonic, so I'm happy.
