Illegal re-connection without owners consent

A Friend of mine had a similar issue. Until he had enough and moved into the house himself with his rotweiler. The tenant moved out the next day.

I live in a complex and we have been informed by CSOS that under no circumstances can we disconnect electricity or water for owners that are in arrears with their levies.
We had one owner who was renting out his unit and was in arrears to the tune of about R25,000.00 and had to take legal action against him.He is finally up to date but is always late with his payment so we charge him interest.
 
Obtain a judgement first for fees owed then send sheriff to sell movable items, usually makes them move before you get an order for eviction.
 
Report him to the Law Society but I don't know if it will help...... just a suggestion to make his name gat.

That's interesting according my lawyer you are allowed to ask for a special disconnection if the account is in arrears? I see no trouble here..

If amount is less than R20k go to small claims court(free excl ~R300 sheriff fee), will end up with judgement likely where you can send sheriff to attach goods at address. It's quite easy and they will normally move out when judgement is granted to save their possessions.

Then you send sheriff to collect on money owed when they move in new place.
