I'm done with Web Africa now...

I've been a very good supporter of WA now for almost a year.
I've used their products (especially the top up facility) but every EVERY end of the month comes, I get these really weird bills.

Now you guys gotta understand, when I top up an account or whatever with WebAfrica, I immediately log into my FNB and do a EFT, so I know that what I've used, I've paid for.

A few months back, I got a really wierd bill, I struggled to understand it, but I sat with Mariet on the phone and we cleared it up but after that, every month, I get weird bills, I toss a e-mail telling the people I paid but still get charged for a R70 bill that I didn't use.

Now this month, I get told I owe R210!

R70 being for September even if I haven't used it yet which is normal.
But now, I get told that even if I don't use the account in a month. I will get charged for it, I must cancel it 10 days prior.

***!

From the 5/25 to 7/12 I didn't use WA so I had to pay R70  (Didn't use it in the 6th month)

Now, a month or so back, I used a friends account for the month, so I never needed to use my WA account, so... that explains the 1x R70, then this month's R70 which leaves R70 unaccounted for which I don't mind paying.

But now, they are fighting for R140 so I'm cancelling my account, I'm also paying R140 to make sure all my accounts at WA are 0.

You guys have fun with them... anyone suggest a BETTER ISP who only charges for what you use, when you use them, that's what I want.

Not someone who charges you for something, and if you don't use it, they still charge you... that makes no sense to me.

Nexus ISP is R6 more than WA when it comes to SAIX 1GB package.

I think I'm going to give them a try this month, or maybe even those people that Pick 'n Pay use...

*grabs pompoms*

Nexus, Nexus I love Nexus! WOOOOO NEXUS! :D

I use them mostly for their ISDSL packages ;) They also have phenomenally friendly service.

Every type of subscription service in the world works this way, they run until cancellation, irrespective of whether you use that subscription or not. A good example in the internet world these days is things like MMO's, if I obtain a subscription today use the game for 1 month and then don't for the next 5, I'm still going to get charged for the full 6 months.

The onus is unfortunately on the subscriber to ensure the subscription (in this case the subscription to our accounts) has in fact been cancelled to prevent unwanted charges.

In the past with WA, when I never used something, i called in, spoke to someone in accounts and they cancelled it / reversed the charge.

But every end of the month I have this issue... EVERY (note how I said that)

I'm done... I don't need to worry about having to fight my bills because you guys are charging for something I havent even USED YET.

I've paid my R140, my bill with WA is 0.
I"m moving onto something else now... where I don't have to STRUGGLE every month.

WebAfrica deducts the funds from my bank account, ie: debit facility. Works fine. Only thing that ain't working with WebAfrica are the SMS notifications. I set it up to send me a notice when I have 5GB to go before my cap dies and it used to work fine. For the past few months I don't get those SMS notifications anymore. Instead, when I login with my WebAfrica account, I get a SMS to say I've exceeded my limit

That is the one reason I'm with Telkominternet. You get everything from one shop on one bill. It might not be the cheapest but there is a lot of "hidden" benefit.

Lemme get this straight, you subscribe to a service, yet when you dont use it you refuse to pay for it?

Think Vodacom would not charge you if you don't use your cellphone for a month? Think ANY service provider would do that?

You need to take a good look at reality, it's ignorant to subscribe to a service, not use it and expect not to be billed.

However you look at it, with your example; Vodacom, you have to pay a monthly subscription.

When I joined WA, there wasn't a monthly subscription... it was based on a "1GB for R70"

I use the 1GB, I pay R70.

I don't use a 1GB, I don't pay R70.

Easy!

It's not a contract basis agreement Armizael!

Catch a wake up!
Don't give me a 'reality' speech... I have enough bills to pay that, when I don't use something, I don't expect to be charged for it.

If you still wanna carry on with me to prove your point, show me where it says with WA that if you don't use an account, you will be charged, if it does say it now, its NEW and I was NOT informed about it, thats why when Mariet said "cancel it 10 days prior" I was like... now its 10 days?!?!? and she had nothing to say.

That's what I like about axxess. I went through the original schlepp to set up an account. but since then, if I need an extra 1GB, I just login, select what I want, confirm when asked about credit card, download my 8KB pdf receit, quickly configure my router settings ... Done!

3 minutes, tops.
