I'm officially a nerd again :(

Hey snap I also have Astigmatism! I wear contacts though most of the time. I think glasses can look really cool though.

You guys got lotsa money? I got the cheapest glasses since i broke my rimless one's (which looked hot even if i say so myself) twice so mom decided back to rims and and the cheapest, donno how i look guess i look ok.

At least you don't have to wear it all the time tera!!!

Well, I'm at the pc most of the time, so it feels like all the time :o

I don't have lots of money either friend, I'm an average average dude :p

Got my glasses today :o, which I must wear when driving and need it before I can write my learner's.

If you are young, 17, 18, 19 and love your computer, please take my advice and don't use a 60hz display, try to opt for something either 85hz or higher and even a protective cover.

It was 4 years ago that I last had my eyes checked by my optometrist and my eyes are so bad today that even she became frustrated when testing them.

Everyone loves their pc, but I love mine a lot :p Now I'm a real geek/nerd, again :(

;) :D :p

Girls are not the priority, I can live without them :p

No, it's not that it's a thick lens at all, but the frame is quite thick. I know I chose the right frame though (for wearing glasses & helmet), so I guess I'll have to live with it.

I'm having a heck of a time at the moment with my perception of "depth", things look further than they are :p

What the hell? Maybe you should consider a second opinion. Also, you can wear contact lenses no problem with Astigmatism.

Lol :p

I've had the same optometrist for almost 8 years, we know each other ;) She's very professional and is extremely good at her job, she has to be with someone like me, since I tell her if and when something isn't working.

There are 3 optometrists in my town. The one (mine) is a old dutch man who is old-fashioned and very excentric.

The other one is somewhat excentric with a HOT and even more excentric 23yo daughter. :(

The 3d one is a HOT 35yo lesbian woman (not many people know this - it's actually sort of a secret ... shhh). :(

We've got a few as well, I only know mine personally though ;)
ha ha ha ha,

You'll be ok tera. Aren't oakleys expensive?
Yes they are Peder. This frame is about 1K or slightly more. I will pay it though, because I need it to be able to drive on the road. My license is long over due, I turn 25 soon  :p

oh thats not too bad, well all in all i've paid R1100 for glasses thank goodness to the medical aid for the rims the first time.

Hope you enjoy your glasses and remember if there isn't a pic its not real.

Rofl :p

Not too convinced about your PC screen theory though. I spend about 10x as much time in front of a screen as the rest of the family and I've got the best eyesight by far. Admittedly @85hz.

Studies have shown that TV or too much computer dont give you shortsightedness - but poor refresh rates certainly give you headaches.

I'm not too convinced. If you spend prolongued times looking at an object at a certain distance then your eyes easily focus at that distance but find it more difficult to focus at other distances. I used to spend a lot of time reading and have ended up with glasses. My eyes struggle to focus at distances other than books and my computer screen...

I agree, which is exactly what the eye doc said. I can see the big text, but small text is a bugger (far away etc.).
