Well as far as I know they've got quite an exstensive network in place already. Maybe someone has some info regarding any international bandwidth SNO may have access to.

Remember the SNO is hopefully going to lauch within this year, yes they probably arent going to offer ADSL from the start, but nobody knows when, so you cant be certain of Teklom ADSL still being the best option within 2 years.

From the their (non) performance so far, the only SNO you're gonna get soon is on top of your head when you reach old age.

over a two year period, both contract and non-contract subscribers support the devil just as much as each other. people on the contract DON'T have to use TelkomInternet. they can use any ISP they want, even one with an IS backbone! i myself have WebAfrica and UUNET accounts.

You just going to pay more for the damn modem than u have to over the 2 years.... I'm sure u can find R500 for a modem to avoid the contract. if u can't then u shouldn't be able to afford ADSL...

kindly explain why, apart from the obvious part that you're tied in to a contract.

1) You will need to check the options as to whether you are able to move up and down eg 192-384.
2) When someone comes with a cheaper option you will be able to switch
3) There has to be a reason that is pushing so hard to get customers onto contracts. If they were certain that they would always be the cheaper option, then they wouldn't bother as the would know that you will be forced to use them.

In the worst case, you can take a telkom modem and pay it off over 6 months (no interest) and without the contract.

Remember - nothing is ever for free. There is always a cost somewhere.
