I work for a small company and we only get paid when the clients pay us. We've been working on an application for a certain company over the last few months. We always keep the clients up to date WRT our progress etc. They never say anything, so the assumption is that everything is okay. So now when it's time for them to pay up, they decide the application is not what they want and they have refused to pay. The result? I, and a few of my colleagues have still not been paid yet. We have bills to pay, rent and groceries etc and I have no idea what I'm going to do now. I'm filled with all sorts of rage and emotions. This is absolute BS  My boss has not even made any provisions for this sort of thing, so we just have to f*****g live with it. My bank account and credit card are both maxxed, but hey, who gives a sh*t, right?

your boss is a stupid box. his sitting pretty no matter what he says. why isit the workers that must always get the shaft. start looking again. if you have a family you cant have a situaiton like that. you should get paid irrespective of whether a client pays you.

the boss is not doing his job. u can be sure he has groceries though.

Loyalty to your company or food in your cupboards...decisions, decisions

That's just madness right there!

Your boss sounds like an idiot!

Agreed

Well not much consolation but at least you have a job. Okay it doesnt always pay but.....

Man that sucks! how have you survived all these months? Its the first time I've heard of a business operating like this and not paying its employees.

You're getting all the risks of business, but the 'upside' of being an employee only.

Rather just go into business yourself.

I see a silver lining in this here dark cloud...

And just as I complain, a recruiter calls me

And there it is!

Good luck mate!

Unfortunately mercurial isn't alone... Sitting in a very similar situation.

You'd be surprised at how well you can juggle financial obligations from month to month! :wtf:

I have started to get all in place to get my own business going. Better to have control over the situation and be broke, than work for a boss and be broke...

If you develop in PHP send me your CV. You're in Cape Town, right?
