A lesser specced PC can come in quite a bit cheaper....with roughly same performance...if you overclock. But thats your choice.

Thats also excluding shipping (and other extras) which they dont do btw.

Maxtor is cheap and fast, youve just got to live with the heat, noise and extra chance it might break on you.
I have a maxtor and a seagate, the maxtor was much cheaper, is quite alot fast and thats about it.
I also had to buy the seagate becasue my old maxtor broke.. but that was a really crappy 40gig, worst you could get and oldish.

wait call me stupid but aint this the worst time to get a graphics card on account that the next gen cards are pretty much just on the horizon??? like i mean next mounth we should be expecting the dx10 monsters the nvidia are keeping so... quite about. but this is my reasoning so you don't have to trust me

out of all honesty, whenever you buy equipment, its always an issue about should i wait a little longer or not and just when you think timing is perfect and you buy the parts, something better comes out a day or two later - it will always be like that!.

i'll ask again  Why not AMD and whats up with the maxtor HD?

id rather buy seagate or hitatchi hd's

Definately rather go for a seagate. They are nice and quite and very reliable + they have a 5 year gaurentee.

INtel = King ATM but wouldnt waste my money on a X6800 would rather get the 6600 as many have said.

As for Maxtor.... why? oh why? /goes and cries

Seagate and only Seagate is what you should get.

@ ID10T - Very nice specs man congrats :) Would have taken the E6600 but if you got the cash for the x6800, guess why not.

Seagate, Seagate Seagate. If you have to do different go WD or Hitachi, Samsung also pretty good for low noise etc... Maxtor :(

Nokkie, AMD would not be a wise choice if he can afford an X6800. :)

maxtor beacause rectron told me that i would have to wait for their next shipment on the seagate's (and i wasnt willing to wait any longer)

CORE 2 cos go look at the difference between the two CPU's

I got the cash and got tired of my crappy pc

i'll send some of those benchmark results when i'm finished bragging to all my friends and getting everything set up on my pc...

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't Maxtor now owned by Seagate...they were bought out.

Even if the brand name still exists...

They were yet you still get a full range of Maxtors..

I would also get AMD, but just because of my love for them and mostly hate of intel. But the new intels are better.. apparently.

Well the graphics card thing, the problem is that if he had to wait even longer, then all he would get ia very overpriced new range card, hes have to wait a few more wekks/months for them to become actually worth it, but if he had the cash, maby waiting for DX10 isnt a bad idea.

why don't you buy at esquire they have lots of stock available

Thats me...:D

Saving up some cash for a nice new DirectX10 Graphics Card from Nvidia....well maybe ATI...depends what the performance is like, but at the moment i have a SLI motherboard and an Nvidia graphics card would be more of a wise choice :)
