You need to either slipstream the SATA drivers to form part of the Windows XP install disc, or have a floppy
sick
disk ready with the SATA drivers on it and do the whole F6 thing 
Or alternatively you could try installing Windows Vista which probably supports them natively, but I didn't say that
I have found it to be easier to install Windows XP with an IDE CD/DVD drive and adding the SATA DVD drive later, after installation.
