I'm thinking about buying a BMW.

I suppose.

The thing is. I traded in my fully paid up Hyundai Getz worth R50k and paid in R20k cash on the thing.

I paid a total of 190k a year ago. After 13 months of paying 3200 per month The settlment on the thing is 104k? That means I have pissed away R111k. If I trade the POS in at R90k and take the R14k knock I have effectively paid R9300 per month to "rent" it for a year.

Or I could have just put the R20k inside the Getz and torched it. I would have been in a better place now.

Mccarthy Guanrantee MY BUMHOLE.

Sorry to say, but it's quite well known that on new cars the book and trade in only match up after about 3 years.

125 is way better than 320 if it is not a family car

The 125 is SOO CUTE! It reminds me of those little mini burgers and prego's you buy from woolies. Looks almost exactly like the real thing, only smaller and cuter!
Now if only the 125 came in a six pack. :p

So madman what car did you end up getting?

The new 4 cylinder engines are pretty impressive though with their high precision direct fuel injection :) 125kw from a NA 2.0 is impressive..

However, I don't think that BMW SA update their site to reflect the changes?

SA:
Reflecting the old 115 Kw
http://www.bmw.co.za/products/automobiles/3/sedan/320i.asp

USA:
You can clearly see 125kw (make sure you click on 320i, as by default 318i is selected)
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicles/3series/sedan/2008/allfacts/engine/technical_data.html

Afaik the new 2009 models are the ones with the revised four cylinder engine. Also, new 8.2 seconds 0-100 vs old 9.0 seconds is almost a second shaved off

But yes indeed, if you can afford a 6 cylinder, then that is even better :)

The new 320i is most definitely turbo charged ;) And its actually 135kw.. Awesome little engine that.

If you buy this, make sure all the brakes, control arm bushings, sensors, and the expansion tank is new. The engine is pretty bulletproof. Oh yes, and have your petrol card ready :D

I used to drive one of those. Exactly like that in silver (if I am seeing correctly). It's an excellent, excellent car. Mine had a TV. :D
