Everywhere is cheaper than that, depends when you are buying one... look for specials.

Off the top of my head I think Look & Listen is still having a 1 game free bundle and BTGames is a specialty gaming store so I always support them....

Yes Live! costs a monthly sub (R70) but it's worth it. It covers ALL games not most and ALL Xbox 360 games are Live! aware which means they all have some online capabilities.... From High Score Lists to complete multi player.

I would like to know this as well. Would love to copy movies, series and music to the HDD and watch them without having to turn on my pc.

Yip. Annual fee is roundabout R600 which means R50 per month basically. Not bad considering you get access to game demos, trailers and a whole other bunch of stuff.

Unlike the PS3 which has currently a fubar Xfire system which doenst allow you to invite pals to games that they aint running at the same time as you and is a tad archaic when compared to the XBL services.

I don't think you can copy movies directly to the drive, yet, but what you can do (once they're in WMV) is burn them to disc, or stick them on a memory stick.

On the pricing issue, I think BT Games and HiFi Corp usually have the Pro for around R3500, Musica still has a great deal for a Pro, extra controller and WWE RAW 07 for R4000.
 
ok bought me an xbox and its not yet been 24hours... and it broke :( and im in no mood to take it back :(

Got mine yesterday as well. I've barely slept the last 24hours.

Been setting up Tversity and been playing in between.

I love it and I only have one game (Fifa 07 & WWE - WWE doesnt count...I hate anything to do with WWE :D)

Now to get GOW next week...
 
cant help it. :( u need to inspect everything when u get it . so when i got home i had a look at what is what and pushed the leaver called ( memory stick) in... and it neva came out now its jingling there inside. ye its not a huge fault but a fault none the less
 
ye been playing carbon again ( for the 4th time... or was it 5th... )
i must admit i love the controller. its more easy on the hands then the old ps2 controller u can play for long hours and have little strain. oh and ima swap wwe for GOW :D from erm... whats that stores name

@Gangstar, I had the same thing happen on mine. The cover to the USB ports? it's a stupid hinge design, but I wanted to get a custom faceplate anyway, oh well.

UPDATE:
So I think I was drunk when I bought my xbox cos I didn’t buy it at look & listen I bought it at musica. I went there today to ask whats up and how long am I going to be without an XBOX360. so the lady says she doesn’t know cos she don’t deal with that but she will get the manager. 2min later the manager arrives and asks whats wrong with it… does the games not lead does it give an error. So I say no it’s the physical box that’s broke. So she sak aff. Kuig hier. Its going to take long if she is going to send it in. what she is going to do for me is contact the supplier to have one sent down. Then I can swap it out. So we wrote down our usernames and passwords…. Erm…contact numbers :S and she said she will call my mom later today ( they stole my fone and it’s a mission to get Vodacom to activate my contract sim, think its been more than a month ) anyway lets hope and see when im gonna get my new console :D

Only one thing bothers me tho. And that is getting my save files off.
