Imagine Uncapped Feedback

1) when do i EFT your guys for payment on my account.
EFT tomorrow ideally as payment should be on 20th.

2) i want to can my account i should just email my account detail to your help desk.
Yes - email and let them know if you are cancelling waiting on MWeb or just cancelling and if you wish them to contact you before the end of the month with options.. or carry on the IS account etc..

3) if it's canceled do i still have use till end of the month ?
You will have full usage until the end of the month... this is just an annoying administration issue.

Hope that helps!

ok well it's canned now :)

when mweb arrives i'll ask for new account and switch over to debit instead of eft.

Woohoo!!

Either that or someone at IS tripped over a cable and just put it under the carpet hoping no one would notice.

I really feel they have shot themselves in the foot with trying to compete with Mweb's uncapped offering. Browsing is fine and dandy on IS, but trying to get my manga/anime fix last night did not get above 12k on any protocol :(

:D - Morning guys!
I'm still upset about the closing of Newzbin.com - the best ever nzb search and listing site I've ever seen... damn the MPAA for not being progressive. It does seem that lobbying and lawyers really does win the day over common sense. Do they not realise most people are paying $20 a month already to do it and it's just lost revenue, when they're too busy trying to make money in the wrong way... blah...

I'm also in a bad mood because I've just heard back from MWeb and they are not sure they will be able to launch for 1st June... but it will be close... we are one of the BETA testers so at least that's something and will see what we can do with that once they allow us connection. Have a bunch of their techies arriving tomorrow afternoon and so can let you all know more then.

On a very positive note though... we've been talking to a new contender in the market. Small scale investment (~R200m) but could have hte potential to cause a lot of change in the industry as well. Some of their products and pricing are very good.

... all we need now is for government and Telkom to sort out their line speeds and pricing... using my figures, we've been chatting to te new guys and explaining to them that even on a 10:1 contention for 384k lines that means that people can only download 6GB per montha dn expect full line speeds. However, moving that line speed up to 10M - you can get 160GB @ 10:1

On a 4MB it's still only 64GB at 10:1 and 32GB @ 20:1... the potential for max line speed is there for a lot of exchanges.. they just need to stop limiting everything, stop overcharging for different line speeds and let the internet progress. However, I hope that these figures go a little way to explaining why there is such heavy shaping for all the accounts.

Honestly don't know yet Bekdik... we have asked but it's on the list of answers we haven't gotten back yet.
Will ask tomorrow.

As an existing imagine uncapped basic customer. Will I get the option to choose either mweb or IS base uncapped internet access, when (if) this does come through?

had been using that for years before going torrents over http, but this is sad :(

Absolutely... we will be telling everyone that they can now chose their supplier through us and change whenever they want to... and when the 3rd Tier 1 comes on board end June (hopefully) there will be a choice of 3!

Our only problem with the transfers are that we have to pay each supplier for a full month of use, therefore, cancellations can only happen at the end of each month. So now that we have been told to expect the 1st June MWeb reseller launch delayed it means that you all have to make a decision between staying with IS for June or leave us :( - I was really hoping to avoid it and will know a lot more today as we are meeting their techies for implementation prep today at 1pm.

I suppose that having 3 different companies to chose from at the end of June might be a big draw for people to return to us or get new cumstomers. I'm also trying like hell to get a deecnt VoIP system up and running for end June, that will include free or cheap calls between Imagine customers and give great fixed and mobile calls in compairison to what you normally pay. Obvisouly good international rates will also be there but is a lot less important.

All we need now is to sort out DSTV and TopTV and we're actually starting to become a decent Tier 2 provider!

Yeah - I'm hoping that the rumours of stealing the code for open source distribution are true. Kinda hanging around on the irc channel to see who knows what about any of it. At the minute, I get the impression that there might be a pheonix there somewhere! :D

Hey guys,
A quick feedback from the meeting today. Still unsure about launch times despite techie talks. There is a RADIUS proxy vs API issue that just needs to be solved but expect feedback on Monday, Tuesday. We're going with the quickest to implement initially, understanding that the RADIUS will ultimately be the way forward as it's the way everyone else does it and will cause problems ultimately, if not.
So good and positive news there is a general belief that this can all be done quickly.. the only questin is.. 'how quickly?'.
With only 9 days until the end of the month and losing the weekend, I'm not too sure we can expect MWeb to squeeze this all in by then :(.

:(

Getting no response on FTP... trying to upload a website (both last night and this morning) and it goes up to 2KBps uploading, then 20seconds later drops dead.
Downspeed is in the region of 25KBps this morning.

Edit: This is a problem with intl (my testing server is hosted abroad). Just tried it on local and it works fine.

Morning Guys!
Souds like a mixture of good and nightmare during the weekend. How's everything today?

Yeah this weekend wasn't one that I was very proud of :(
Intl/local news servers wouldn't go above 15KBps.
