iMessage & FaceTime on Cell C

Hi I'm looking for some info from you people who ported to cell c using iPhones

Has anybody had problems activating iMessage and FaceTime on your cell number ? The activation on the apple ID works perfectly.

Can the Cell C rep please give assistance on this please as I went to a few cell c stores and nobody there has a clue what is the problem is as it works on Vodacom and MTN.

P.S I have done a full restore and on IOS 6.0.1 and carrier settings on 13.0
 
iMessage should work automatically (if you're texting someone on another iDevice). FaceTime over 3G is dependant on your network AFAIK and I can't speak for cell c here.
 
Yes it worked automatically on Vodacom before I ported to Cell C.

The problem just happened after the port.
 
I ported from CellC to Vodacom (not what you asked, the other way around) and last week had trouble getting iMsg and Facetime activated again. It signed in with my Apple ID no problem, only the cellphone number verification didn't work. After giving up I tried it again yesterday, and it just worked all of a sudden. I'm guessing you have already tried all the normal tips and tricks? (Date & time, auto time zone etc.)
 
Yes

Did this whole list

- Restoring my phone
- Resetting network settings
- After reboot complete, log back into apple account in Settings, "iTunes & App Stores"
- Removing SIM several times
- Toggled automatic time set automatically option
- Made sure my correct number is entered under Settings>Phone>My Number
- Turn off iMessage.
- Turn on iMessage
Nothing happened waited a day didnt fix itself like yours just get a "Activation Unsuccessfull" after few hours
 
Change "apple.cellc.za" to "internet", try that.
 
I have a Iphone5 with CellC contract, iMessage and Facetime both says "activation unsecsessfull" or just "waiting", but if you use the service it works. The CellC customer service told me they do not support it!?? Go figure... can't get an intelligent answer anywhere!! Help!

I did nok ask for help, but who shat in your porridge? I was just merrily stating that, although the iMessage App displays "unsucsessfull activation" or just "waiting for activation"... it still works. The intelligent answer I referd to was from CellC and Autopage. They could not tell me if the Network supports the service or not... that's all. So relax you did not need to help me. :(

I am too still waiting for a cell c rep to assist me for 3 weeks now no one came back to me yet from cell c.

Your iMessage is working on your apple ID so is your FaceTime but is it registered on your cell c number of your contract ?
My issue is that I can't activate it on my vodacom number ported to cell c at all yet a mtn and vodacom sim registers with ease. Everyone at a cell c store keeps telling me its a software problem I have and not their network yet I did a complete restore and used other sims and it work on other networks

Seems that all they do is passing the buck and not addressing this issue.
 
Hi was this ever fixed for you? I have a similar issue. My imessages are sent from an 084 as opposed to my ported 082 number
 
I solved this "incorrect number" issue on an iPhone 4s last week using the turn off imessage/facetime-reboot-turn back on solution. Work perfectly for me. However ported number was a CellC number as well (replaced 074.. with 074...) so perhaps that's why it worked.

I've tried all of this and nothing now iMessage won't activate
 
I ported from vodacom to cell c, kept my 082 number. iMessage and facetime works fine, so not sure why yours isn't working.

Maybe try switching the facetime off and then on again while connected to wifi. My activation failed but worked while on wifi.
