I am leaving, but I don't get this #ImLeaving thing. They only time I post about leaving is on a few other groups and forums, and it's to ask for guidance or assistance on some of the details of leaving, or to give advice or progress on how far along I am
#ImLeaving just sounds childish to me like it was started to directly annoy the #ImStaying folk. The reality is that the vast majority in #ImStaying don't have the ways or means to leave.

It also seems to be working.
But I agree, it's every bit as pretentious as #ImStaying.
Sometimes posting is also to get assurances about your chosen destination (and even justification) - which is different from justifying yourself to others.

Um, we're all living with and dealing with the issues that are causing people to leave. We're not outsiders here, we don't need it explained to us. My sister and her family are leaving as soon as they sell there house. We haven't discussed their reasons at all. What would be the point.
Rampant inflation? Wow really? I hadn't noticed. Rampant crime and lack of security? In South Africa? I hadn't noticed. Regular outages of basic services? Nee fok, surely you're joking? I just hadn't noticed any of it. Thanks for sharing I now understand your decision to go build a better life elsewhere. You poor things.
