Immigrating to the UK

Talking of food selections.

I noticed the UK has a **** ton more for toddlers and kids. From foods, sweets, toys and clothing. Literally spoilt for choice.

Get back to SA and go to PnP and it’s like we in lockdown were shelves are bare when it comes to kids things.

Looking forward to giving my son more choice when we make the move…

I was like this as well when I came over. There is like an entire aisle for just yoghurts.

Oh you want some peanut butter? Have fun deciding between 20 brands...:D
There can be only one...Skippies :)

This but for literally everything. Evertime I go to the shop it's like decision paralysis.

The Uk just has a lot more to offer the average consumer. Literally spoilt for choice on everything.

Yes and no. I don’t love the heat, if anything I miss the ZA winter. I was really nervous about getting into the ocean. Real fear of not being able to deal with the temps because I really do love the ocean but it turns out that you can adapt just fine which was a relief. It’s purely mindset and dressing correctly.

I’m Capetonian. The water here is fine.

No Skippy no school!

Still remember the first time I came here and I saw Lindt on the shelves. It’s kak fancy in SA, but only a few pence here so I got stuck in until I was sick of it. Those white Lindt balls with the soft chocolate centres…

Renewals never seem to be really competitive, I've even ended up staying with the same company in the past but refusing the renewal and signing up with them again via Compare the Market for a much cheaper price. Insurance companies are idiotic like that.
Same with broadband providers. Went down from £90 to £25 for my mother in law last year by telling them we've decided to switch to another provider.

She had forgotten to change providers in time

Another thing I noticed. Every so often while you plodding the streets or driving around, you get a strong whiff of skunk.

It's really a lot more common than I expected
