Sorry 43. I also pay a fiver for a static ip

Though I see this is a promotional rate. I may need to do some negotiating soon.
Not that I'll switch away. ****ed if I'm going with BT or virgin fibre...

There are some good deals out there, I think @Hamish McPanji got a 900Mbps fibre service from Vodafone recently for around that cost, with cash back via uSwitch.
Yup. Some January offer from Vodafone. 900mbps fibre for £28/month , with like almost 3 months worth of cash back. Includes the phone line (keep your number) , which made my mother in law happy.

Downsides :
24 months contract
7% Price increase kicks in April 2024

Upside :
Don't have to worry for 2 years
900mbps is awesome. We had 150 with sky

I am on 500 and I actually wonder if paying more for 900 is worth it?

4k streaming on 3 TVs, Xbox, PS5, both wife and I work from home most days. Never had any performance issues.

500 is plenty good enough. You will struggle to get that 900 unless it's wired anyway. Virgin was £27 for 250mbps...so only £1 difference

Highest wireless I've got is 589 down , 750 up on my phone /pc

More than anything else it's because the greatest concentration of our friends in the UK stay in North West London. So we figured we would look to stay there for a sense of 'community'.

The reason we moved to Guildford initially is because a family friend offered us a short term rental of his place while he is abroad. And even though I am really enjoying it here, I do think that ultimately it would be better to move closer to central London and be around people we know.

Are your friends Saffers? We usually congregate in the SW by default (except for @Dave who didn’t get the memo).

Whereabouts in the NW specifically? Don’t say Wembley…

Ja. Same. Am applying for jobs well below my skill level....and no bites
Could be the current job market?

We had a tough year last year, was a real struggle. Things have seemed to improved last 2 to 3 month to the point we are almost needing to hire, but are cautious about hiring right now.

Emigrrate to somewhere /immigrate from somewhere.. British English at its best.. Kinda like accept / except or enquiry / inquiry or advice / advise and so on.

I recently renewed with BT. Was going to go 300 fibre with Virgin. I thought they had a pretty good deal. Spoke to BT and said I'm moving and next thing they are giving me 500 fibre for £28

Seems like I need to throw hands with BT, I'm paying £30 for a measly 150 Mbps

Going back to the job seeking, also mention you are IN the UK and have the right to be here for x years (in addition to your right to work).

I found that helped a bit (might just be a coincidence though)
