Immigrating to the UK

OK so the area has stupid high rents, they couldn't look elsewhere? Guy can work from Ukraine but can't look at like, Leeds. Plenty good priced spots where I am. Just seems, moany

Literally the first listing when I opened the link:

Studio for £1213.

Though for a couple this would have been nice.

Less than £250 a week

I have to say that this is a new experience for me...
I put out my CV at the beginning of last week and I have had 3 recruiters contact me, and I have an interview this afternoon. Salaries north of 60k with great packages.
These are people phoning me about jobs I have not applied for.
All I can say is that those in IT looking to move to the UK should look for the jobs that just pay enough to cover their costs and a bit more, and then once you are here get your CV out and the fish will bite.

truth.

I took a low-end job that was low stress but in a company I was interested in.
In two years I've had 2 promotions and have increased my salary by 50%.

Our household Schengen visa journey over the last 6 months has not been easy.

My SO had to apply for a Schengen visa on 3 occasions for 3 different EU visits. On each occasion she was only granted a one month visa.

I was lucky enough to get a 6 month visa in Oct 2022 (which I fully exploited with 5 Eu visits), but now thats is due to expire I cant get an appointment for a renewal.

Anyone know of countries with quick processing times?
Update: So I have spoken to a few visa agents....

They use some form of bots / scripts (whatever its called) to snatch up all the appointments once they become available. This is apparently a huge problem for embassies, hence why most have captchas on multiple steps when trying to book an appointment.

So you have to pay a rogue agent a fee for an appointment (I think this is similar to whats happening with driving licence renewals in SA?)

The only other option is to go via Orange Carpet for a business visa (my SO just did this and was awarded a 3 year visa).

It's just getting through the door. Most UK companies will not consider an applicant who isn't in the country. However, once you're there, the flood gates open up.

3.7% unemployment rate will do that; unlike our 40-odd % in good ol RSA.
