Not so much up here, it's drizzled on and off today but not been cold, the humidity is still a killer, met office shows it as still being 91% now.

Summer? Has been raining last 35 of out 39 days here in northwest Germany.
Bath is a pretty damn nice place to be, really love that part of the country although it is way out if you want to see the country. Rentals look pricey to me but I’m in a low rent neighbourhood in east midlands.I'm considering a possible job offer in Bath but its difficult to gauge the relative purchasing power and cost of living. I know this depends on a range of factors but I'm curious for those in Bath or similar places what a typical month/year of expenses may come to?
Thanks, any comparison will be useful as I often find these cost of living websites to be way off.Bath is a pretty damn nice place to be, really love that part of the country although it is way out if you want to see the country. Happy to share general cost of living stuff but being a family of 4 not sure how helpful it will be.
Brp you have to collect in person
Your entry vignette will be valid for something like 30 days from issue and you should pick up your brp within 10 days of arriving.
As for those increases... **** me, and **** the tories. Double taxation ftl. I hope its april, we renew in jan
Yeah that's fine. Once you have your brp in your possession you can come and go freelyAh right, so a month to book flights and get into the UK to collect. But once I have collected, if I needed to come back to SA - that wouldn’t be an issue right?
I might have to come back for a couple months.
Here are the fees for people outside of the UK

UK visa price hikes – this is how much more South Africans will pay
The UK has announced its intention to raise visa and IHS fees for foreign nationals. Here's how much more South Africans will have to pay to enter the country.businesstech.co.za

Not for a spouse visa. For any renewal and the ILR you basically need to prove you live together permanently and intend to do so. Trips out of the country are not an issue.I only ask because I read somewhere that I should not be out of the country for extended periods of time - which would be problematic for the next visa renewal? Or - is that only for the ILR application I wonder?

Only an issue if you do things like spend 180 days in total out of the country when trying to apply for your ILR.
