The rain isn't the problem for me. It's the dark in winter...People seem to think that it rains all the time in the UK.
Truth is that it rains most days, but usually for not long enough.
I love the rain, I love the cold. I complain when its hot.
I keep telling all the Brits how good everything is here, but Brits do love to complain.
But even when there is strike action its well communicated ahead of time, and its limited in its impact.
Been meaning to try those for a while now. They do look good.A friend told me to try the Toffee Yum Yums... those things are pure evil. And they are so cheap too!
Takes a bit of getting used to but to be honest it's over pretty quickly. Only 2 and a half months before the days start getting longer again. The rain isn't the problem for me. It's the dark in winter...
A quick search of an immigration lawyer's site shows this:

UK spouse visa required documents checklist
You will need to provide several documents with your visa application, these may include:
- Completed application form and application fee
- Valid passport
- Previous passports
- Evidence of your genuine and subsisting relationship (e.g. shared bills, photographs, correspondence, messages).
- Proof you meet the English language requirements (e.g. CEFR exam certificate).
- Two passport-sized colour photos that are in line with the requirements set by the UK.
- Proof you meet the financial requirements (e.g. bank statements, savings statement, wage slips)
- Details of any previous immigration applications, if any
- Details of any criminal convictions
- Your national insurance number (if you have one)
- Proof of accommodation in the UK
- Biometric information (fingerprints and a digital photograph).
- Tuberculosis test results if from a country where you have to take the test
Things like greetings cards, travel tickets, receipts, photographs and text or social media messages are not considered strong evidence of your relationship and are unlikely to help your application.
Got to love immigration "experts"
UK website is very specific on Photos, texts, etc

It also goes on to suggest that if we are married - don't need to prove we have lived together for 2 years. But will add all that we can think of to the application.

Maybe they ascribe to the "throw everything including the kitchen sink" at every application, but they are well known specialist immigration lawyers.

Aldi/Lidl same same.View attachment 1598204
The number of times I've gone to Lidl and bought stuff from the middle isle only to get home and forgot the buy the item I went there for in the first place.

They'll ask for more if they need it.That's my plan as well. I don't want a refusal on something minor that could have been included.

Yes.Oh that’s good to know.
It’s we either have a job offer that pays more than 18k a year. Or savings to 62k. Or a combination of, right?
If we have no savings but wife warning more than 18k a year - I believe we ok?
She earns more than that now - so will submit 6 months of current employment payslips too.
Which reminds me, I need to go buy a pair of Aldidas plakkies.Aldi/Lidl same same.

Yes.
She'll need to prove ongoing/current employment over the threshold, as well as historical earning over the threshold as well. I used my letter of offer, UK payslips and past SA payslips.
Having done this in August for my girlfriend.Hoping I can get some guidance from those on here. Busy finishing the UK tourist visa application and need some help.
My wife and I are each filling in our own applications. One of the questions is will anyone be sponsoring part or your whole trip. The accommodation we have booked is in my name, and on her application we have filled in 'yes' and given details that I have paid for the accommodation. Is this the correct approach? Or should we rather say she is not being sponsored, as sponsorship may reference a UK citizen. Hoping someone can help please!
Edit: @Priapus maybe you can help here? I've seen you've applied for a fair few UK visitor visas
Also wondering what docs we need? We're both employed but neither of us keep much money in our current accounts. We thinking:
1. Employment letters
2. Past 3 months payslips
3. Past 3 months bank statements
4. Past 3 months saving account balances.
Do we also need proof of accommodation?
Proof of accommodation, and the flight itinerary are the most important documents they look for.
