Yeah doing it through them.

Still waiting for the CoS to be issued. Trying to get all this wrapped up by the 29th so I can hand in my notice at the current company. I know the SWV won't be done by then - but hoping the CoS is issued by then. How long did your CoS take to get issued?

Company is sending me an official offer today. So it's all systems. I'll hand in my notice once I have the offer - as the CoS will come through and the SWV is straight forward I think so no risk there.

Cool, I'm sure you know now but you need the PTE Academic UKVI.

For CoS:

4 May - Official offer
12 May - CoS received

Did you need to do any prep for the English test?
Since it’s my only language I figured it’s straight forward?

Okay so roughly 10 days for the CoS.

It will be really easy for you, the only thing that might come as a surprise is the actual structure of the test. You have to write a little essay as well, wouldn't hurt to just familiarise yourself with what to expect but I wouldn't be worried. Eng. is not my first language and I managed to score 90 overall :p

Oh and the Pearson people are really strict. So make sure you know what to bring to the test (Passport etc.) because they will show you away if you don't have everything.

Register with ehome affairs and entered the UK mobile number. Guess what - OTP's don't work with a international number!! ****! So now can't logon to renew the passport and book a appointment. Also can't re-register as system says already registered.

DHA calls and emails go unanswered. What a cluster ****!

Guess it's going to be a case of going to DHA and standing in line for hours. Already not looking forward to going back :(

Family in SA is useful for this, although I have decided to keep my SA number until all my debts are paid off in SA and I don't need to receive OTPs.
 
My fiancee has been offered placement at the University of Law and the University of Westminster.
Sadly they do not recognise her 18 months of studies through Varisty College, so she will need to start her studies from 1st Year.
 
We're now wondering if it's still a little too early to be enquiring about rentals? Our exit month June/July - I'm thinking we need to wait until at least May?

Not sure how you’ll get around Right To Rent if you’re not in the country yet - might be easier for the Mrs?

Renting is now a competitive, full contact sport in the UK, too. Remember, there was a 700k surplus of people last year, and they all need somewhere to stay.

The idea is the everything will be on the Mrs name; since she's a citizen.

We are seeing properties staying listed for months at a time. I think in our price range (above £2k a month) property isn't moving as quickly as the lower end stuff.

Once I have my Skilled worker visa, I'll also have the right to rent and as I understand it I just need to get a share code of sorts off the government site to prove it.
