Immigrating to the UK

That part I don’t understand. If I passed the first time why would I need to pass the test again when renewing.
if I remember correctly, the second time you have to pass to a higher standard than the first one

My wife didn't have to prove english a 2nd time because her first one was high enough.

Luckily with the Ancestral Visa I'm on, I'll only have to do the English test in a few years time when applying for ILR.
That and the silly life in the UK test.

Interesting. I guess I’ll see in a few years time what they require.

Yeah, been living in London too long. Hard to master a language when no-one around you speaks it.
Well where I work, they technically speak English but I had an easier time understanding German than these folks (they all full British)

I would've thought you guys would be on C1/C2 level (native)?

I have to do bloody Dutch on B1 :/

Yup I scored C1. The bar is so low at B1 level - if you don't pass at B1 (For English) you really would have issues at work communicating.

Isn't Dutch close enough to Afrikaans you can sorta get through it at B1?

You've been there awhile now; do you still have more things to do or are you looking to dump the pleb passport?
