Immigrating to the UK

Is wise the best place to start squirrelling cash away?
Won't be fixed amounts and will be anything from £10 to £1000 at a go

Moneysavingsexpert has advice on savings accounts. You're going to be moving your money around a lot to keep getting the best rates
Yea just want to get it all into one place and as pounds over the next weeks and months.

Does it? I don't think so. Not savings accounts anyway.
Credit Karma sent me alerts when I opened up my Starling and Revolut accounts and told me that multiple accounts will negatively affect your credit report. You don't want to open too many accounts too quickly, or close too many accounts.

EDIT: It appears that the alert is basically automated, but it only really impacts if you have multiple lines of credit.

I like the idea that I can sign up now, get swift to send a card to my wife's address and have it all ready when I arrive.
Just note that the Shyft card does not work with Google Wallet or Samsung Pay. It only works with Apple Pay. But the card does support Tap to Pay, and there are virtual cards. Its a great service and the app is not half bad.

DO NOT DO IMMEDIATE PAYMENT FROM CAPITEC TO SHYFT - KNOWN ISSUE!
Standard Bank to Shyft is immediate because Shyft is Standard Bank (and the Shyft account shows up in the SB app, seen it on my Fiancee's app).
