That is a very wrong thing to do, Banggood is not at fault. Did you specify TNT as the courier? On my last order I made sure that I went with DHL and paid their R250 + the minimal customs fees that was actually due.

That is a very wrong thing to do, Banggood is not at fault. Did you specify TNT as the courier? On my last order I made sure that I went with DHL and paid their R250 + the minimal customs fees that was actually due.
I don't mind paying customs, the problem is with the admin fees, release fees, and any other fees.
Also customs seems to be a lot higher when using TNT....not sure why?
I had the same issue with CourierIt - ended up paying more than the value of the item because of their "fees"... oddly enough, it was six light bulbs... if I'd had them sent individually I would have paid nothing.

All the couriers do that. FedEx, DHL, ups, etc.
If only one did it then that one would close down, but it's a collusion as they all do it.

I just learned this the hard way, I ordered DC trip switched for a solar project, the goods were R 1600.00 in total, TNT want me to pay R 915.00 in "fees" to get the parcel. Yes I understand VAT and duty must be paid but that high admin fee? They are ripping the receiver off, they already get a fee from the sender.

Looks like you tried import more than 3 things per year without import permit?
You don't need an import person - a private person can just use their ID Number.
I probably have 3 things coming in per month.

The is the first item this year. The seller had the wrong amount on the box thats what the R500 fine is for. The R1500 must be because im an idiot for using TNT. They are rude and unhelpfull when you call to query the charges. The item is worth quite a bit more so i cant give them the middle finger either. I will never make use of TNT again and i will make sure as many people as possible know about there get rich in one day antics. There are only so many customers out there.
