I have a small office network consisting of 4 PC's. They are all connected (wired) to the network via a Dlink DSL 2640U DSL router.
I use the network to share a printer and a Microsoft Access database. The database runs off one of PC's. I do not have a dedicated server.

I have only recently installed a DSL line.
Since installing the DSL line the network has become slow!

If my configuration is not the most efficient, can you a solution to speed up the network. I cannot afford to install a dedicated server and Windows Server OS

You may have a dns problem. How are your pc's ip's configured? Is this different the prior to installing dsl?

Ensure that all devices gateway points to the dlink ip address.

Use static IP's.
Check for viruses, spyware, malware e.t.c.
All the pc's have a decent firewall?

Start>Control Panel>Network connections
Right click Local Area Connection (or whatever it's called) click properties
Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Give each pc a unique IP (e.g. 192.168.1.123), try keep it in the same range as the routers IP address.
Use the same subnet for each pc (e.g. 255.255.255.20)
Make default gateway the routers IP Address on each pc
Leave Preferred DNS server blank or call your ISP and ask them what it should be.

good luck.
