Just out of interest, why is changing the MTU necessary for iBurst, but not for MTN and Vodacom 3G?Great to hear. The lower MTU is required for similar reasons as to the use of a VPN, as part of the header is used for mobile IP.

Both Voda & MTN create a dialup type connection (ppp) when connected. That has the MTU config in itAfter that other question: I didn't seen a 3G modems with LAN interface.... USB or Laptop. They looks like don't need MTU regulation.
I recently upgraded my Mikrotik RB433 from RouterOS 3.30 to 4.10.
After the upgrade I was only able to access certain websites; iburst, mybb and iol worked, google and uct did not.
I checked the router's PPPoE configuration and found the max MTU was still 1392. I noticed there is an max MRU setting which was 1480 (must be the default?). I dropped the max MRU setting down to 1392 and was able to access the google and uct websites.
What is the recommended max MRU setting for iBurst?
I can find many references to the max MTU setting, but none to the max MRU.
My D-Link DIR-320 router is set to 1492 and all works. When I set it to either 1352 or 1392, the router can no longer connect to my iBurst ppoe account. Is that right? How did you guys get it working on those MTU settings?
Hi guys, i would like to know what is the best mtu setting for xbox. I use a desktop modem connected to a router.
See iBurst Compatible Hardware thread. Can anyone tell me which routers are capable of adjusting MTU settings on?
