Incredible Corruption specials

Incredible Corruption probably hopes the stupid people will come in and think they scoring but they not.

Well I had an old HP Deskjet and that wouldn't have sold for R400, being the trade in price stated. So, sometimes you win, like myself, or you lose :D.

I swopped out a 1999 proline 14" CRT for one of them thar 22"ers. Not a bad deal as I have wanted a 22" for ages. That monitor I had was my old spare from the days of my 486!

Seems you can swop your old monitor's keyboards, pc's ect for a new item.
For example the Acer X223W 22 inch goes from R2200 to R2500 online, swop it for a old monitor and you get it for R1899.

Think I'll be going off to go swop out an old monitor.

i gots me a t240 and a t260 now. thanks to them taking the crap old monitors i kept in the garage & was wondering how to dispose of. yay!

do they test the equipment beforehand?

as i have 19" crt that doesn't work, that i can "trade-in"

[edit: ANY size crt will do]
R1000 off a 26" - they only got T260's, so the price is R3999 (well that's what i paid) instead of R4999
R800 off any 24" - i got the T240 for R3199 instead of R3999.

i dont think the crt needs to be in working order - they never checked if they were working with the 2 times i swopped monitors at the centurion branch. i didnt even give them power cables, but thats a minor issue though- they could easily check if the crt works -but they dont.

you take the CRT to the repairs/upgrades/dingy corner.
they give you a two pager form to fill in. (stuff like make/model/serial# - all on back of crt)
they make a copy of your ID/driver's licence.
you pay at till with a big grin.
if you want to, you could try running to your car.

Hey, you forgot the bit about having the security guard at the entrance verify your payment slip, so I guess you'll have a security guard running after you! :p

That basically explains the whole process. I also picked up a T260 with a trade in of a 14" CRT that was about to give up the ghost.

You are only allowed one trade in per item, so you won't get a larger discount for bringing in 2 monitors. All trade-ins are also on a item for item basis e.g PC for PC/Laptop, monitor for monitor etc.

When I was at IC there was a lady that carted in a whole PC (keyboard, mouse, monitor etc.) for trade-in on a laptop. Shame, she could have gotten discounts on a LCD, a new mouse etc. but instead she only got the one discount on the laptop for all her items.

If I'm not mistaken it is till the end of this month (February). As far as I can tell their site doesn't provide a definite closing date.

yip. the promo papers states that the trade in offer is for the whole of feb.

@crusader: it is more fun running to your car with a security guard running after you, than just plain-vanilla-running to your car. :D

I retract my previous statement, found the same printer but for R100 less at Dion Wired this week without any trade in scheme, at least they took my junk.

So you paid them R100.00 petrol/handling fee to throw it away for you? LOL.
