Indoor IP/WiFi Camera Recommendations

The Sonoff GK-200MP2-B looks to be a great choice and I can integrate it with my HikVision NVR using RTSP from the research I have done. @AlphaJohn - I see robofactory has them at R690 but they are out of stock, takealot has them for R835, know of anywhere else reliable with good pricing?

Robofactory has the best prices on Sonoff kit I have seen thus far. Smartkit also sell them at the R835 and Communica for R750.

If you in no rush you can mail them: support @ robofactory.co.za to find out when their next shipment comes in. From my experience so far they don't hold 100's per item but do restock often.

That is the reason why I have a NSA automation.... a simple "Hey google: hide from the NSA" kills Google Home + camera's and such power via Sonoff Basics

Indoor cameras:
1) Baby monitor
2) Kids monitor -- I've left the (older) kids at home for 30 mins while I quickly drove to the shops
3) Contractor monitor -- just keep an eye on what the contractors are doing and how far they are with say installing a new floor
4) Babysitter monitor -- there has been a couple of stories over the years about babysitters abusing the kids they're supposed to watch and protect. Legalities about this are questionable (hiding a camera and spying on them to catch them in the act).
4) Cat monitor -- I set up an automation to detect a cat jumping onto a little shelf where their water-fountain is. It turns on the fountain and also takes a snapshot using a cheap no-name IP camera. This is used when we are on holiday to see that the cats are still fine (and that our cat watcher is feeding them!)
5) Extra layer of security -- if somebody is in your house then they circumvented all the outside security. Probably too late but still useful. I have automations to turn on a Wyze cam when we're out for this exact reason.

Sonoff's eWelink smart app is not free anymore BTW... You have to pay an annual subscription service. Additionally if like me and you used IFTTT, you have to pay for that service now too....

As I haven't seen anything about Annual subs nor does Google provide in-app transactions?

I know about IFTTT, 1st I hear about eWelink... if they do switch to paid subs they can see loads of people ditching them as Tuya is still a free service.

A smart switch is only smart if you have automation... I use it to switch my lights on & off at sunset / sunrise as well as my pool pump timer...

Thanks! Forgot to mention that it also turns on a lamp (for 10 mins or so), so it doubles up as randomly switching on/off a light, thus giving the impression that somebody is in the house (for all the good that does).

Awesome I have been looking at getting a few basic Sonoff switches for a few indoor lights and Home Assistant popped up as an option and I have a RPi lying in a drawer having been unused since we moved to our house over two years ago.

I forgot to add, that these also support ONVIF and RTSP.
Recording via SD-Card.

The more expensive TPLink Kasa web cams include full cloud recording (48 hours) and support (pay if you want longer) and supports HA.

Brilliant cameras. Set it up in the kitchen and lounge. Logged on this morning at 11 to see what the kids were doing and caught my son throwing a sweet wrapper on the floor in the lounge.

Called through the camera and told him to pick up the litter and throw it in the recycle bin. Never seen him jump up so quickly
