Hello all. I am in Douglasdale and want to know if there are any installers in the area that do cellular booster antennas?

you might just want to get one of takealot and do it yourself

We used these guys for a solution. The people using it are very happy with the results. Works for all cellular networks. Might be worth your while inquiring.

I still don't get how these boosters are legal. Only the spectrum license-holders are allowed to broadcast on those frequencies, so not sure how boosters bypass this.

They're not ;)
It's hard to get a provider like MTN or Vodacom to do it themselves though. Last I saw MTN do it for farms that have an MTN monthly bill above a certain Rand amount.

Edit: Not sure if I misread the previous posts. Repeating a network operator's signal is illegal, nothing wrong with antennas themselves.

Fitted an “Alltone” unit inside a shop in Wynberg. Prior to fitting this, the cellular service was poor, calls seldom connected.

It was a bit fiddly setting it up, had to move it around the room a bit as the direct line of sight to a cellular mast did not achieve the best result

It was well worth the cost (about R10000) and everybody is pleased. The shop owner had asked Vodacom to assist but all that occurred was many promises but no action

These unit cost about R13000 today. There are different models that seem to do the same thing

I had a cell signal booster before since my house is in a dead cell reception zone and it was pretty useless.
Using MTN VoWifi on my Samsung phone has been a game changer, perfect signal everywhere there is wifi - luckily I have fibre.

Technically not true.

VoWIFI has no effect on your carriers cell service.
