I installed Ubuntu on my laptop this weekend and stupidly didn't realise that MSN wouldn't work on it. I have used the Pigin IM but it really is very basic and only has text messaging.

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting an IM that has video and audio for Linux?

Kopete is quite good as a general purpose messenge. I use it for gtalk, as I havent seen a gtalk client for linux, and connecting to your mail every time is a pain. You can use it for multiple chat programs at once.

As Web aMsn is good if you want something that looks and feels exactly like MSN.

Just search the repo for aMSN, it is there.

Add/remove from the menubar.

Just a warning though, aMSN has all sorts of dependencies (tls and tcl or something like that) so urpmi or apt it. Just trying to download the RPM will prove painful.

I downloaded the aMSN and it works!!! Now all I need to do is find a linux compatible webcam. Any suggestions?
